Perhaps a handful of movies remain in ones consciousness; this is certainly was one of them. Beyond a personal tenuous connection, the benign calm juxtaposed with the pig-mindless horror of Pol Pot and his vermin minions was chilling to the point of making one insensate. Everything about this movie – its beatific/good and jaded/bad captured the temper of the times and Oldfields’ music was its heartbeat. Simply perfect.
Dr.Haing S.Ngor was shot & rob for the neckalace he swore he would never take off when he made his speech at the award show when he won an OCAR in 83 or 84 or somthing, its on youtube, him & his niece were the only ones that made it, his entire family generation all died. BUY THE DVD tella you all about it.
You are so right about this. I communicated with some of his relatives. he barely made it out alive leaving behind his wife and unborn child, both killed by circumstances by imprisonment by the Pohl Pot regime. As you indicate, the material on the DVD tell you the horrible story, Haing, rest in peace, you were a great human being!
This ain't know Korean or Vietnam war, It's about the Cambodian Genicidal war in the 70s, it's a true story. The actor who played Pran, was basically reling a nightmare. The actor died in 96 I think,by A gang called O.L.B. in L.A.. The real Pran is still alive.
@mrmolestah All correct, except that Pran passed away in 2008 of pancreatic cancer. But sure was a brave survivor in the killing fields. I was very touched with the story. Also, great movie and furthermore its soundtrack was made by my all time favourite composer.
Not very well what you ask me. It is the soundtrack of the film "The Killing Fields," I think it was about the Korean War or Vietnam, I do not recall very well.
If this is not what you ask me, try again. Thank you for view and comment on the video, Greetings. Kisses
Hmm, strange, I had place a comment here about this video. I'll give it another try. I have seen this movie and when I hear the music again now the whole movie is again clear in my head. It is so beautiful this song, together with the pictures. Thank you for sharing this fractaldeio, greetings and a kiss.
If, Truus; sometimes disappear and the comments are lost, who knows where, I happened more than once, in these times we must re-write it again. I also saw the movie, sad, very sad, to mourn and not stop, wars ... that we are ill with ourselves, a pity. I am glad that you have liked, a kiss
I really love this music
