  • thats nothing... come into the northwest and then catch a steelhead. this is weak.

  • @rcairplanedudeiscool tried to find your steelhead videos from the northwest, hard for me to trash talk your videos when they don't even exist, i think the world's dumbest dog, has the worlds dumbest owner.....maybee not the northwest, but check out my videos and tell me the fishing isn't sporting....

  • i live in 84, bout 2 hours away from erie and its awsome there

  • walnut creek great steelhead creek :)

  • Great Video! Looking Forward to fishing Steelhead this year!

    Are you a fisherman?

  • Sure theyre big, theyre in numbers, theyre fight hard and theres nothing wrong with them. But dont call it a quality fish if its not wild.

  • @ONSteelheadJunkie some of your ON steel maybee wild, but none of them are native, wild fish aren't great quality because they survived the odds, they're just lucky, not better quality than the ones that died trying......some comments

  • Keep it clean guys. There are kids who watch this video. Don't write anything you wouldn't say to your 4 year old or you can expect your comments to be removed.

  • sorry, anyways good videos

  • Zip it bozo.

  • hey guys mr walleyeone here,, come check out my new leader storage system, buy walleye one spinner bag company,,,plus have a new bag coming out called the drifter,,,,,,,, this is a great video...

  • i go up to a place near the new york border and i never see people there and it is just about as wide as walnut and elk.

  • great big fishs

  • My ten year old sister caught a nine inch bass her first time fishing in Pennsylvania and my dad caught a 2/3 inch mino! lol ;)

  • Is it also possible to spinner fish for steel head, or is it fly fishing only?

  • you can use a spinning rod it is effective, use spinners or minnows or spawn sacks or drift flies

  • is steelhead any good to eat? i haven't tried it yet and moms frying some now

  • its so good! try it smoked!

  • Do you really have to use that kind of language?

That's why I've removed those comments.

Come on both of you, there are probably some kids watching this stuff. Whatever you think about the video or fishing in Erie is fine, but using that kind of language only shows your ignorance.

  • Wow, what fun. fishing shoulder to shoulder in tiny little creeks to catch hatchery pellet heads. Whoppe.

  • im visiting union city up near erie on the 7th through 11th

is there any good fishing near there at tht time?

    thx 4 any help

  • heck yah, go up to elk creek, the guys up there are toe to toe, and thell swim up around you, its alotta fun

  • thx

i ws on a huntin trip though nd we wer jus gonna go out on sunday cus the no sunday hunting thing, but we thought it was a little cold 2 be on the stream this past sunday

  • It was a bit snowy wasnt it? Temperatures were right about 37 in the water, so a bit chilly

  • i live in erie pa its awesome im out everyday

  • There are tiny creeks that people dont know about if u want to get away from the croud. There is one behinde my house, it may only be 4 to 10 feet wide, but that doesnt stop 20 inch steelhead coming up there. I have yet to see anyone fish it. I may try to go and catch some this year.

  • ah, if you never did it, don't bash it. Theres tons of places you can "get away from the crowd" Just need to find them

  • Yea, all along Elk Creek, I've fished all day without seeing a single person when Walnut Creek was elbow to elbow.

  • CONCRETE, does a slime layer good. Ahh, urban steelheading with 999 of your closest buddies. No thanks.

  • LOL

Not my cup of tea either. Thousands of people standing in what I describe as the "camo curtain" - people standing elbow to elbow with camo coats on hoping to luck into (snag) a stocked steelhead.

  • true your cup of tea is probably the local kid pond with the ole faithful push button..

  • you are a jackass, ive fished there and do it often, ive never seen anyone purposly snagging fish except the 10 year olds that wander from their dads and the occasional wierd asian guy...just because people wear a camo jacket and not a 300$ orvis jacket doesnt make them any less of a fisherman...

  • Actually, I occasionally see people intentionally snag fish.... often people who like to break other laws as well. But then I laugh my ass off when I see the fish cops fine them $1,000 for each illegal fish. What a hoot. But in all seriousness, Walnut creek, for all it's crowds, is fun. I never knew how to Trout fish, but watching the experts pull them in one after the other made me appreciate the subtle nature of trout fishing. Some old black guy about 80 yrs old taught me.

  • cont... there are though a few that do succesfully reproduce. Also, there are a couple nursery streams, trout run, and godfrey run, where they are protected by law and can spawn or the fish com. wil transport them to a hatchery. i understand why you could misunderstand because i hear in washington the rivers are amazing and very clean..etc. so it is probaby ideal for reproduction. hope i helped!

  • I frequent the area in this vido to fish. You did here him correctly. See, the way our creeks are here most of them are shale i believe which is almost imnpossible for them to reproduce on. Also some areas tremendouse pressure. cont.. next comment

  • i hate walnut creek ;[

  • steel head do repreduces natchurally !!!!!!!!!

  • They reproduce naturally, and they are running up the river in this video to do just that.

He was referring to the fact that they are a West Coast native that has been introduced into Lake Erie through a stocking program.

  • Good informative video. Why do Steelheads not reproduce naturally?

  • i hope most fisherman practice CPR = Catch Photo and Release. but ill never understand how people can fish elbow to elbow in a any body of water.

    nice trout by the way

  • The scene you see elbow to elbow fishing is the most popular spot on Erie's Steelhead Alley. It's basically a tourist trap of sorts for visiting fishermen/women. Most experienced steelheaders never even visit that area, let alone fish it. Trust me, there is much better fishing away from that stretch, though we get folks from all over the globe adding to the congestion some days.

  • Mitnilmot, I would agree. Walnut and lower Elk, and off-shore trout are more newbie zones. The fish bite at anything, they pile up. But what a place! After you successfully reel in your first Steelie, it's actually YOU that is hooked. And the shooting fish in a barrel, and the crowds do become tiresome, you move to more challenging waters. I'ts a wonderful place that is unparalleled anywhere.
