  • sounds like iron maiden :)

  • Isn't there a part of the song where it goes "Heaven help those who help themselves thats the way it goes", if there is can somebody tell me what part of the song

  • Awesome

  • I believe this is the remix from "Walk on Water"...I have the cassette and this and the remix of 'Doctor Doctor" are the best tunes on the album.

    Rock On, Ride Free!!!

  • The guitar sounds sooo fantastic ! Eargasm *__*

  • This version sounds like a re-make of the original. The guitar leads and riffs are different. Am i imagining this?

  • @profilercms No! I also noticed that.. the vocals are different too

  • Joe Diaz Cocksuckers!!!

  • 4 people have no ears

  • @ARCHEO24 Four people leave the lights on probably because they're afraid.

  • Awesome.....this song brings back some memories......thanks for posting!!

  • UFO clearly bad ass rock from a bad ass time in ROCK !

  • future msg

  • Hard to believe this was recorded in the 70's, it sounds wayyyyyyy ahead of its time. Production, guitar tone, mixing, etc. Killer stuff!

  • @DoomMetalSludge there was certainly an artistic flare going on then

  • This group got me through the DISCO era without ever noticing it. UFO...the greatest METAL group of the DISCO era. Heavy Metal THUNDER,,,,RULES

  • @MrTiptoes2

They really have influenced lots of our other metal groups. Long live UFO!

  • @metalstormimpaler YESSS, UFO is the best Hard-Rock Band after Axel Rudi....! Lights out is simply timeless and HardRock at its finest... Doctor doctor and Rock Bottom too

  • wohoahahahahah , geil fussball c-jugend in den späten 70igern: dieser song hat nie gefehlt!!! danke UFO (mit filzstift auf den schulranzen gemalt)

  • AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!!!!

  • This song is way ahead of it's time.

  • @xtremejc yessssssssss absolutly

  • @xtremejc dude for real. Someone here asked if it was a remastered version or a retake or something.

  • this should be modern warfare 3 soundtrack

  • I have the original album. This song is what I grew up with, love it, love UFO's urgency. They always blew so many other bands away.

  • Guys, to be honest, i think i jizzed

    thank you

  • @Hehhee1000 i think black sabbath does

  • @buttbagable I think ur mom rocks harder

  • i love this song, but check out fifth angels version. It rocks harder.

  • @4everliveLizzy Nothing rocks harder than UFO.

  • @4everliveLizzy Fifth Angel are awesome. Havent heard their cover though.

  • @Hughesy16LFC its pretty sweet

  • 7/17/11 two deaf people ♫ ♫

  • There's no way a guitarist sits in a studio and bashes out a solo like that unless they are under the influence of an assortment of booze and drugs. A cocktail of creativity and insight that one doesn't normally see while sober.

Not advocating that sort of thing. But....Phew....What an incredible result.

  • Sounds good but I was kinda hoping Schenker woulda reproduced the phenomenal solo he did on Strangers in the night for the new album. Nothing touches that. Every nuance of it from the controlled feedback, subtle wah tonal variation, melodic passages...

  • I bought Strangers in The Night in '78 and played it continuously in the 8-track player of my '70 Chevelle, SS396 convertible. I was 18, had the world in my hand, and didn't even know it.

  • @KastleBravo i'm in love....

  • frickin classic!!!

  • \oo/____( '_' )____\oo/

  • This isn't the Lights Out version (77), this is the Walk on Water version (95).

  • Comment removed

  • Yes this recording is from the Walk on Water CD. I believe this to be some of Schenker's best playing IMHO. He is the master who single handedly influenced so many great guitarists. He is the unsug hero who lives on in our hearts & music!

    Long live Michael!!!

  • This was 1977!!! When I heard this the first time I couldn't believe it, the guitar solos sound like something satriani would play.....in the late 80's! schenker was 10 years ahead of his time, and he still is.

  • This song is so tight. Fuck...

  • 1977

  • No way is this 1968 dude... 70s, not 60s...

  • Thanks for this, brill song :)

  • sick6@n.airg.combefore Testament it was a local east bay metal band called Rampage that use to jam this song like they wrote the motherfucker. Back then it sounded like they probally did. THE PAGE ROCKED DUBLIN CA. TURTLE

  • Well, you know, UFO is the best...!

  • This version and the one on their official double live album are the BEST versions!!!

  • k2 is OUT LIGHTS OUT!

  • k2 is OUT

  • This one is a classic.

  • ah finally found a not live version lol

  • This sounds live. It's not off the album - but it sounds great!!

  • I think this is off the walk on water cd

  • Would have loved to have seen this live back in the day, with the thumping of the bass compromising the integrity of the roof and support structure of the building in whatever venue they were playing at. Could have had disasterous consequences.

  • @2000toddowen Saw them at the old Chicago Stadium in '77 or "78. Unbelievably loud!

  • @evoman1776 My father was at that concert too. That concert is the one that is on "Strangers in the Night." And to imagine that you are one of the screaming voices when they say "Lights out in Chicago" is pretty amazing.

  • OMG I never knew Michael was this good. He could easily challenge Eddie van halen in a guitar duel. and possibly win hes not even doing any fretboard tapping either. His sounds like liquid with his picking style.

  • great song

  • Damn, Michael Shenkar is a fucking savage guitarist.

  • @Aeroman1996 When I made the post the release date was the 1st but they changed it to the 15th.

  • Love the power of the riff

  • I miss the 70's. Not just because I was a young punk who had his whole life in front of me. But because the music was just so freakin' awesome.

  • @sunnymanpr Well actually, I miss it for both reasons haha.

  • California just banned USA made light bulbs Gotta love the bleak job forecast. pretty soon we won't be able to change a light bulb let alone make one at this rate.

  • UFO---"LIGHTS OUT"

  • Stryper does a cover of this song on their upcoming cd The Covering available in stores 2/1/11. There is a sample on youtube.

  • im learnin this song on guitar its just a bit hard

  • this is 70s METAL....sounds 80's

  • ...whoahhh.

  • The whole lead kicks ass but the second half......MONSTEROUS!!!!! The whole piece handed down by god him self! Killer!!!!

  • It boggles the mind why people were so impressed with Van Halen, a year later.

  • @Ir1s1 Van Halen had some great stuff then they went commercial and then bit the dust, I always liked the stuff you never heard and radio didn`t dare play.

  • Great band Amazing tune.

  • thumbs up it it pisses you off that lil wayne and rick astly come up before this in search

  • From the first time I've listened to UFO, I've loved them.

    This is no exception.

  • awsome guitar

  • THAT INTRO ALONE KNEW WHAT WE WERE ALL IN FOR!!

  • Where can I find the original Lights out studio track from 1977? This is the 90's remake from the album "walk on water". The original is a bit more energetic :)

  • Greetz from the Netherlands/Holland-Amsterdam

  • One of those solos that makes my eyes roll up in the sockets.

    SO GOOD!

  • Excelente canción para mí, MICHAEL SHENKER ES EL MEJOR GUITARRISTA QUE HA HABIDO EN LA HISTORIA, POR ENCIMA DE JIMI HENDRIX, JIMMY PAGE, RITCHIE BLACKMORE ETC, SOBRE TODO PORQUE CUANDO APARECIÓ M. S. ALEMANIA NO TENÍA UNA TRADICIÓN EN HARD ROCK

  • this is the best version of this song! anyone know where i can find it?

  • yeah this isn't the original version of this song

  • @Wowottaja74 Do you know the lyric in the last verse? 'Listening to you's like.......................". Can't understand what Phil says in the first strain! It's not in any lyric sheet i found.

  • this song brings back great memories. Michael Schenker is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. The rip at 2:17 - 2:55 is epic.

I think Michael and Yngwie Malmsteen are two of the best heavy metal guitarists ever.

  • @TheStrangerInUsAll thanks dude!

  • who the hell is the lead guitarist?? he is SICK!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @jasonthediabetic Naw, i got the original version. there's a huge differance. there original version is shorter, and is just a wee bit faster

  • This is definetly not UFO. but i like it still. who is it?

  • @TooRollingStoned7195 it is. ihave the record it sounds just like this.

  • @iminmetallica My bad. This is UFO. But this is a remade version with Vinnie Moore.

  • @TooRollingStoned7195 I'm pretty certain that this version has Michael and not Vinnie on lead mate

  • @ChesterPiniton The Michael studio version of the guitar solo sounds pretty awfull, whereas this sounds like an Eddie Van Halen style. And i googled it. They often remade their own songs on later albums with Vinnie. You can tell because Phil Mogg's voice sounds differant aswell. You can also find it on a Vinnie Moore era album on iTunes. It's sounds exactly like this.

  • Hey gringodelgado, what version is this??? Never heard this one... It's awesome!

  • amazing

  • What album? This is

certainly not the the same song on the album.... the number #1 Album of all time....

  • Damn. This kicks serious ass.

Could've been recorded in the '80s.

  • im sorry, but i like Fifth Angel's version of this song better.

However this is still a kick ass song with UFO.

  • This song kicks asss mann !!!!!

  • Aweesommeee!

  • les solo son hot en criss dans ste toune la ... pi la toune est bonne en criss aussi ...

  • YES! this song got me into UFO, they rule!!!

  • This fuckin ro....ROCKS!!!!!

  • Man, i want to go to London and sing this song out in the streets. People will look at me and be like "what is that crazy American doing?"

  • @BytorAndTHEsd

    Hell Yeah

  • @BytorAndTHEsd Nah, I'd join in. :D

  • @BytorAndTHEsd try it man!it will make you feel REALLY good!

  • You've never been to England have you?

  • @TheEJDavies nope, although i hope to see some soccer (futball) games there one day.

  • @BytorAndTHEsd Football

  • @BytorAndTHEsd ,,,you'd probably get lost in the crowd, plenty of crazy people in london :)

  • @88joebananas88

I think he would. British accents aside...London Is just another town fallen to the injustice of political correctness and the slavery of entitlement mentality.

Maybe he could sing this tune in Victoria Station and get 2 stares from the only 2 people there that can speak english.

    [lol]

  • @BytorAndTHEsd

I won't 'cos I'll be there with you mate!

  • @BytorAndTHEsd i think it should be part of customs check when we come over there.

  • One of UFO greats

  • first comment

  • @codyatcheson232323 first immature douchebag

  • @JoviAero hahahaha
