These are great starting pieces for any DJ....they are bright and affordable. I just ordered 1 myself as a backdrop wash light for my videos. Can't wait to get it in the mail!
@SonicOrbStudios Great! Hope everything goes as planned with your videos and please video reply to us whenever one of them is ready! Thanks for your wonderful comment! ;)
I have 2 colour strip minis, and 2 RGB Techno Strobes. I have never had a bad product from Chavet and the build quality in comparison to a certain company that produces dj equipment in America is fantastic 5 stars
@skipfoot Sounds great the following link is the list of dealers that sell our products. Excuse the spacing YouTube doesn't allow web addresses. chauvetlighting. com /chauvet-dealers/
will this do sound activation mode? And how would this work/look if I used it on the floor behind me or in front of the table while I do weddings or mitzvahs?
@katieducky23 Yes they are linkable. We appreciate the questions keep them coming and try this light in your set-up and see how well they work in action.
@chauvetlighting O: will do! i kno i promised some videos a while back but then sadly jobs started slacking off and i never got a chance to work and then buy lights but ill DEFINATLY have a job to buy lights pretty soon! =D
@tman1756 please visit your local CHAUVET dealer for the best pricing. If you need assistance finding a local dealer, please visit our website or give us a call at 1-800-762-1082. Thank you for your interest in our products.
I bought 5 of these and for the love of god, I can't figure out how to make them do this with two of them. I've read through the manual's... set it up master/slave with the DMX cable, and I can't get it to sweep from one to the other as if their one long light. Any advice???
@chauvetlighting Not yet. I hit a deer with my truck, so i've been replacing a front end for the past few days. I'm borrowing a few of my lights out to other dj's. once I get them all back and hooked up, I'll contact them, guaranteed. Thanks again.
I am lookin at getting two of these for my bar/club in my basement for parties. That part at the end where these lights kinda do that strobe action. Is that a program that would come in the unit? Or would I have to get a DMX controller to speed it up? Ur advise would be very helpful
The part of the video I am talking about is right above that lil soccer ball thing on the player. I dont know when they took the time counter off on Youtube...
@1010sward Have you taken a look at our COLORband series of products? You can either have a COLORband RGB, with RGB LEDs, or the COLORband TRI which has TRI color LEDs
On the COLORSTRIP, if you put channel 1 between DMX values 80-209, you can access the different color chases that the unit has. You can put it in sound mode on channel 2 between DMX values 128-255. You can find this information on page 14 of the COLORSTRIP manual.
Please call 800.762.1084 press 4, if you have any other questions.
I got 5 ColorStrips and 5 ColorStrip Minis for a night club called in Downtown Boston, and they are awesome. They completely transformed the venue and are everything I expected. There are some pictures on Facebook if anyone wants to check them out. Search Mojitos Boston. Thanks Chauvet...
I had a question about these can they be used in sound to light mode or some sort of chase that requires no programing while still hooked up to dmx. I need to be able to use the blackout button on my controller to stop them but not have to program them.
On the COLORSTRIP, if you put channel 1 between DMX values 80-209, you can access the different color chases that the unit has. You can put it in sound mode on channel 2 between DMX values 128-255. You can find this information on page 14 of the COLORSTRIP manual.

Would using one of your DMX controllers (like the obey series) with "auto-mode" get better response times than the onboard mic in the colorstrip itself? As far as the ability to detect close beats...
I have 4 of these, and they are great! I want to know if your DMX controllers(obey series, etc) have a "better" reaction time to the audio when on auto mode. I've noticed that the built in mic's can't pick up any kind of a beat faster than say .5 seconds apart. So double or triple+ bass beats really just get skipped over. It would rock if they had a 1/4" line in so you could run explicite instruments or outputs into auto mode. These are great for bands that cant' afford a dedicated light guy!
Thank you for your feedback! All our competitors controllers in this price range are the same way. At this time, we won't be adding ¼ jacks to any controllers or fixtures due to the fact that not many people use that feature.
I hope this helps! Make sure to send in videos of you using the lights - we would love to post it on our YouTube page.

is there a program to make it just stay the same color and like throb to the level of the music? Or would you need a dmx controller for that? I'd be nice to have explicite controll over what colors it cycles through...
Yes, you can address the fixture - all addressing information is in the product manual. Please let us know if you can't find what you are looking for in the manual, we are more than happy to help!
Is one of these bright enough to wash a stage wall about 15 feet wide and average ceiling height? I'd like to just set it down on the floor, pointing up - but would this be possible to do close to the wall, about the distance of one foot? Is the angle of the beam adjustable?
Would the led color strip be a good option to light a band or person speaking at church? Can it generate a bright enough light if I use one or 2 on the stage floor? (15-20 ft wide area and 5-10 feet from subject)
It would definitely be bright enough, but it would have some odd effects on the floor where it sits, especially while they're speaking, lol. I'm a church techie too. :)
No controller is needed. connect the slave fixtures to the LINK OUT of the fixture that proceeds it (NOT the DMX out) and then look in the manual at auto program numbers 14-20. enjoy!
I run sound for live bands. Can this be used for live bands? I really don't want to deal with the heat and power hungry PAR cans anymore. Could one Colorstrip per side of the stage give me the same light as 4 PAR 46's per side?
We will have a video up later this month that will be perfect for you. I'll just say we put on a lighting show with a live band. It's pretty impressive.
do u hve any lighting that is regular white lighting which can replace our church traditional light fixtures throughtout our sanctuary? thanks for ur response
I've only seen these in Master/Slave mode. Can these fixtures be individually controlled? (Are they addressable?) Are there any dip-switches (or such) to create static colors without using a controller? Thanks for the video and info.
my friend on youtube told me that you guys are making a party pack called "Chauvet Party Bash Pack" that comes with 2 Color Strips, Eliminator Mushroom, and somethin lse i forgot. Is this true?
It is possible, but that is not the CHAUVET product. A lot of our dealers put together their own product packs with our products. We have all of our online dealers listed on our company website.
