@JHand04 So you happen to know why channel 10 ditched the old logo? It's a classic--and a bunch of other channel 10 stations picked it up. Matter of fact, WAVY-TV in Hampton Roads still uses it.

I think it's amazing that WBBM Channel 2 in Chicago (CBS) Still uses a version of this theme today. And that Bill Kurtis and Walter Jacobsen are still the anchors at 6:00 PM here.
They also used this theme for the WCBS-TV's version of Channel 2 News as the closing theme. The opening music around late 1983/early 1984 was slighly similar.
This theme (at least the opening part) is used today by KPHO CBS5 in Phoenix.

This theme was also used by KNXT (now KCBS-TV) Los Angeles in the late '70s to early '80s.

I wonder why WCAU ditched its old logo when NBC took over. I always thought it would look nice next to the peacock--now I'm sure of it.
