@SirBarzdevics Twist and Shout was written by Phil Medley and Bert Russell. Jerry Leiber wrote "Hound Dog" and "Jailhouse Rock" , they were big hits for Elvis.
It's about time someone posted this. I have been looking for this copy for a long time. I only heard it on the radio stations and tried looking it up on the 'net but they only had the mono version. Thank you for posting this. :-)
LONDON will host the 2012 OLYMPICS..2012 also marks 50 years the BEATLES walked into the EMI studios in ABBEY ROAD and recorded their first single and album....this should be recognised in ENGLAND...The BEATLES are ENGLAND'S real royalty (unlike the Queen, Phil and Chuck and Di who couldn't manage not even one top ten single) and should be recognised with parties at the CAVERN CLUB, the ALBERT HALL, ABBEY ROAD studios and many othy worthy venues...agreed?
I picked up Sgt. Peppers, and Revolver. If you really want to hear a difference in sound get the remasters. The old Beatles CD albums sound good for what they are worth.Being kinda new to getting Beatles albums i am amazed at the upgrade in sound. Everything in the songs is so clear now. The bass is very prominent in the albums.
I heard clips of that album in mono here. When I get the money i will get the mono box set. Hopefully EMI wises up and releases the mono CD's individually. After all that is how The Beatles wanted their fans to hear them. It amazes me that EMI/Capitol made the mono box set limited edition.
the people who run capital have always been idiots,they had to be forced to even release the beatles back in the 60s and they only did it after they saw how veejay was finally selling beatles singles that the beatles gave them since capital said no,thebn later on capital takes all the credit saying they always wanted the beatles and they knew they would be a sucess when they first heard them.
Yeah i'm a bit dissapointed by that too, the albums have only been remastered, not remixed. The mono mixes will sound amazing though, but EMI are 'clever', they know that most people will be after the mono mixes, so that's why they have put them in their own box set and stuck a huge £200 price tag on them. Originaly both mixes where going to be on each album, but EMI make more money by seperating them.
I think i'm gona try and get the Mono box set off eBay, then buy the Stereo albums that arn't in it. Mono sounds a million times better in my opinion.
@paulh3 Yes but the mono doesn't have let it be and abbey road, and i read somewhere that this was the worst remastered song on the stereo remastered. I don't see any real reason to get mono.
thats called stereo, its how all the regular beatles albums are anyway. listen to Blue Jay Way with only the right speaker, its just the singing. pretty creepy too...
Jeez, just listen to John killing his voice with that sore throat! It certainly brings a raw and energetic sound that reminds me of Louis Armstrong.

Crap! The voices are still on the right an the instruments on the left with no middle channel. I'm not sure I'll invest.

@paulh3 it was recorded on a two-track... this is as much of a stereo mix as it can get

But it's MONO! It's supposed to sound like that. That's how the sound came out of the speakers on WABC 77 AM when we were kids. Oh, forget it! ;)

@baracine
it is easy to Pan them to both sides since the masters from Rock Band so mixing them could be easy
