Great! I think that's one of Ron O'Dell's best rags and I loved Tom Brier's piano solo of that! Although I'm generally not very fond of ragtime ensembles, I think this Raspberry Jam Band did a great job with this ragtime gem!
The Raspberries got a great compliment when one of the heads of the Heliotrope Ragtime Orchestra misheard something and thought the Raspberries were having an album out, wondering how he can get it. They are a very fun ensemble, sometimes including slide whistles and kazoos into their performances! An album would be welcomed by many, I'm sure.
Thanks, Tom. I just added a link to an MP3 in the description of this video, so you can hear Brier playing this as a piano solo at the 2004 Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival -- quite peppy! Andrew Barrett let me record him practicing another of my rags at WCRF this year, and of course you witnessed Tom playing my latest at the post-festival party. I'll get to posting those soon too, to add to my "My Compositions" playlist.
How many hours of video did you bring home from this festival. I took almost 15 hours of video (on 15 - one hour DV-mini tapes). I am gonna be kind of busy for a month getting these edited with titles and credits and writeups. A labor of Love, and I get to hear the festival all over again!
A little over two hours -- just about two and a half memory cards worth (I have three 512MB cards, having bought a second one before 2007 Sutter Creek, and a third one DURING 2007 Sutter Creek!). I only shot a few different performers. Friends, people who need exposure, fun stuff, a bunch of Confrey for a Confrey fan on YouTube. It wasn't my intention to do another clips vid like last year. Now that was a lot of work to put together and squeeze into two 10-minute videos.
This band has a sound that invariably causes me to smile!Does this signify that I am enjoying their music? You bet!

Ron, this is a very clever rag. I especially loved the na-na,na-na, na na na na na-naaa part at 54 seconds into it.

Yes, I remember watching your 2 Ten Minute videos. That was pretty clever work!
Anyhow, I am anxious to see your vids as you get them on YouTube.
