hi im glad you like the old girl i got it off ebay a coupple of years ago it was just a big box of rusty cogs really it cleaned up a treat and went back together lovely the old leather belts had seen better days i used a coupple of cambelts turned inside out as replaicements and respaced the motor and gearbox to suit them it works lovely i managed to loose the original toolpost so knocked that one up from some heavy stainless bar doesnt look as nice as the original but works ok....
Thanks for the reply. My Cousin got our Grandfathers lath its this ones bigger brother its about 9 feet long and has lots of hand made fixes and enhance ments done by our late Grandfather. Its still as true as the day it was built... possibly more so!
I'm a little bitter that my mom let my aunt talk my grandma in to giving it to my cousin. and its under a tarp in Washington state and probably going to be a rusted heap before he gets a place to set it up.
beautiful.... How did you come to own it?
