I do like that Gundy attacked the media. The media deserves to be attacked every once in a while. Plus, the meltdown was just awesome.
BUT... in interviews with that backup QB and his mother after this incident, they both said that Gundy was putting up an act and was not really being genuine. The player, "who did all the right things," apparently wanted out of Ok St because of Gundy.
Any leader has not only the responsibility of leading, but also of standing up for his people. I found Gundy's reaction admirable. If you watch the real video, there is a round of applause from the reporters when he walks out of the room. Everyone has the right to be stand up for what he believes.

I do like that Gundy attacked the media. The media deserves to be attacked every once in a while. Plus, the meltdown was just awesome.
BUT... in interviews with that backup QB and his mother after this incident, they both said that Gundy was putting up an act and was not really being genuine. The player, "who did all the right things," apparently wanted out of Ok St because of Gundy.
So don't give Gundy too much credit.

Any leader has not only the responsibility of leading, but also of standing up for his people. I found Gundy's reaction admirable. If you watch the real video, there is a round of applause from the reporters when he walks out of the room. Everyone has the right to be stand up for what he believes.

they obviously did not read the article. The article did not criticize his playing, it was an indefensable horrible article in the most well known professional state paper in Oklahoma. It attacked the player for his close relationship with his mom and attacked him personally in other areas. If these guys dedicated almost 8 min to this subject, I think they would have been professional enough to actually read it. They don't know what they are talking about. They have lost cridibility 4 me.

@oicefishfan He is. He's turned OSU into a program, instead of a TEAM, meaning that now instead of doing good one year our program will consistently do great. Gundy clearly cares about his team, and I'm sure that there's been times where he's got offers from other teams in the nation but wouldn't leave. I'm glad.

A player who is depressed or bothered will not play at his best and will perform worse than normal. Sports writers need to realize that college players are on average between 18-23 years old. Kids, by traditional standards. They are amateur athletes playing because they love the game.
