  • Talking heads...

  • bok sad smo igrali cugopol i onda smo ošli u neku depresivnu birtiju i pokupili se otamo, i sad cugamo doma i pečemo činjose.

  • There's only one line up better than this: the double trio.

  • To me, King Crimson was at its peak with Fripp, Wetton, Bruford, and Cross. Not that Red was any worse than Starless and Larks'. But that trio of albums was simply their best work, in my opinion.

  • I'd rather like the very first line up with Lake and Giles. This is too pop-jazzy to me

  • Shame about the sound quality - regardless - the unusual combination of the extremely distinct personality types in this band ( Belew & Fripp are from different planets ) multiplied by their incredible talents, created an stunningly fantastic band with an extremely unique sound, still one of the best bands I've ever heard - yes - as to what kind of music this is exactly, I have no bloody idea: damn good though.

  • hello? Is this thing on?

  • Unusual to see Fripp this happy

  • @acoronab

I don't know, you can see him looking pretty restrained at Belew. He doesn't look pleased with his new vocal performances at some points. :P

  • This is from the show "Fridays" on ABC

  • poor audio quality but amazing music and performance :)

    Thank you for uploading this,

    Bibi

  • wait.. that guitar looks worn out.. does somebody know if it's the Jimi Hendrix guitar?

  • @richiman007 No. A lot of people have beat up guitars. Including professionals.

  • Weird talk

  • Is this the SNL performance ?

  • Sheldon Cooper from big bang theory reminds me of Adrian Belew

  • Fripp scares the shit out of me in this...

  • Is Fripp sporting a Travis Bean in this video?

  • el video esta horrible -.- pero kc es lo mejor :)

  • I never seen Robert Fripp smile and enjoy so much

  • @namyssoj I know what you mean - you can tell how proud he was of this line-up.

  • COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mr. Fripp is really the epicenter of KC. All of his KC Projeckts (with theiir different musician players) are differents kind of expression by this genious

  • Seeing this you are privileged ....

  • fuck! this is AMAZING!

  • Amazing, though the audio quality leaves much to be desired.

  • @wtfIZgoinonYO

    normal.... en 1981..... lol

  • This reminds me of "I zimbra" by Talking heads

  • @Steve9842007 wow that's like saying Geddy Lee sounds too much like John Entwistl

  • Didn't Levin play with Peter Gabriel?

  • @degree7 He certainly did...

  • @degree7 Still does.

  • Belew's got the moves

  • just fuckin unbelievably good......end of transmission.

  • well now i know where jerry was a racecar driver came from lol

  • Dude, Robert Fripp looks like Spok's younger brother. How cool is that?

  • ロバートフィリップ先生がデーンと構えて座っているのが良いですね

  • これは五反田で観た。15年以上前だね。

  • I grew up with King Crimson in the eighties stoned as shit.

  • pat... is another genious

plus toni levin with that outfit looks awsome!

  • pat... is another genious

  • this song is perfect, fuck anyone that disagrees....it's all talk

  • Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Tony Levin and Bill Bruford are the quintessential King Crimson line-up.

They've had many members over the years, broke up and came back with new line-ups and members. But to me at least, THIS IS KING CRIMSON!

  • @Lalo3001 wait..Adrian Belew?..i was wondering where and why this sortof sounded a bit frank zappa, ish

  • @Lalo3001 I agree but I also liked with John Wetton--red, larks tongue

  • @Lalo3001 I'd say tied with the In the Court of the Crimson King line up.

  • @Lalo3001 The original 1969 line-up is the quintessential KC IMHO but this is the probably the most consistently good KC line-up

  • This is totally where Primus got their sound.

  • @busteraperture So many bands look to King Crimson... Primus, Tool, Faith No More... I'm sure there are countless others that look up to King Crimson or derive their sound from them.

  • @punkmusicmetal Some bands are heavily influenced by King Crimson. No disputing that. Primus, however, persistently replicates this sound. Indubitably. Also, I feel like I'm watching Les Claypool perform here. Primus is talented, but I've lost a lot of respect for them after witnessing this. To base your whole sound and musical performance on another band's is evidence of a lack of creativity. Borrowing a pinch of someone else's brand is one thing, plagiarism is quite another.

  • @busteraperture ...? Please, provide examples of specific Primus songs if you're going to make such a huge accusation of "plagiarism" (which is fucking hilarious by the way). Primus was influenced by Rush/Zappa/The Residents more than King Crimson regardless. As a band, they really sound nothing like King Crimson.

If you're going to attribute Jerry Was A Race Car Driver/DMV tapping to "plagiarizing" Tony Levin, then you're accusing anyone who's ever tapped on a bass of doing the same.

  • @Steve9842007 To be honest with you, I just don't like Primus. They sound like cartoon music. Les Claypool can't sing, he writes what I believe are meant to be humorous lyrics, but fails, and he rips off Adrian Belew consistently. Bad-ass bass player, yes. Original, no. Larry Lelong needs to hook up with a band more deserving of his talents. And I don't need to give specific examples. The proof is in the pudding. Look up at the video.

  • @Steve9842007 Every Primus song sounds like this. That makes them unoriginal AND redundant, which is like a double whammy of suck.

  • @busteraperture I'm just not even going to respond to you anymore. That's an incredibly idiotic statement. You're really saying that Bob, DMV, Over The Electric Grapevine, Tweekers, Del Davis, etc etc etc, sounds EXACTLY like Elephant Talk, which just shows you don't know what you're talking about at all. It's cool to not like Primus, they're not everyone's cup of tea, but to say baseless, unsupported accusations is just fucking stupid. Also fail to see the Belew thing you mentioned.

  • @Steve9842007 In essence, yes I am saying that all of those songs you mentioned, and all the rest of them, sound like Elephant Talk. IN ESSENCE. I'm not saying they are all called Elephant Talk, and contain the same lyrics and music. You shouldn't get so defensive when someone calls out some music that you like for what it is. You should have an open mind and accept the true nature of the thing. The profound experiences you have had while listening to Primus were-and still are-a farce. Amen.

  • @busteraperture bicker bicker bicker, it's only talk.

  • @ZachValkyrie I believe "banter" is the word you're looking for.

  • they enjoy themselves so much when playing

  • @3:24 technical difficulties win!

  • the last time you use the words guitar player and interesting in the same sentance

  • Is this the ground-breaking performance shown on "Fridays?"

  • @northropx Indeed

  • @northropx Yes it is

  • My favorite bassist is Tony.
