i'm interested in acquiring this game, but i'm too much afraid to do so and upset my arse off my wallet as it hapenned with Witcher 2, which is complete P.O.shit IMO. The idea of the game is fine (witcher 2) but it doesn't really make you feel like you are part of something... it is plain boring and shitty optmized. Is Oblivion well done? It makes you really feel lonely and at nature's mercy as you would on your own? Cuz i want a D&D table RPG-style gameplay and sensation. Am i gonna get it?

THE VERY BEST RPG i've ever played, and the runner up ex-champion for me was Dragon Age Origins, so yeah, this is a helluva a greatly epic game for me. Gonna play my balls and arse off in Oblivion.

Depends. Yopu need good hardware to get the decent graphics and of course..... you need to be interested in maximising performance on your PC. One problem I hate with PCs is the clunky OS. If a more game oriented OS was made to take into account PC hardware things would be brilliant. At present however windows is just a chore.

@devilledevil98 If you have a nice PC, any game on it will run max settings at 60fps, while on console, some games need to have their graphics downed and the fps set to 30, so it will keep a nice look.

In some games there REALLy is NO difference from the ports, but take a look at most high-end games. See GTA 4, Fable 3 (in case u have xbox), assassins creed.

I agree. Oblivion is only half the game. If you want the true experience, then get the mods. Thats why I think you should never buy it (or FO3 either) for a console, because you have to stick with the ugly looking base character faces, low-rex textures, overly bright dungeons, unlit windows at night, no DOF, no true companion system, no Xenomorph & Predator characters (LMAO!) and the list goes ON and ON!

No chance man! Theres definitely gonna be a mod community. I know the games coming out multiplatform, but Im adamant that it's being designed with PC's in mind (to get the better graphics and the mods), and then being ported to the consoles so everone without a good PC still gets a chance. The project leader (whoever he is) said "you cant ride the dragons, well, not without mods anyway", so Im hoping that was a confirmation of mod support. I could be totally wrong though!

I loved #1, got it for PC last year after my mate at college told me about how cool it was on Xbox about 3 years ago LOL, and finally decided to pick it up. I want a Sudeki 2, I think that was even better than Fable IMHO, but VERY similar to it in style and presentation. A spiritual sequel to Jade Empire, or a good RPG set in feudal Japan where you can be a Ninja, Samurai or Yojimbo or something would be SICK.

Yea I wish I could play fable 2&3, since I dont own a 360. Im a PC/PS3 gamer, but I love Oblivion (Pointless unless you get it for PC IMO), and Ioved Fable 1 on PC. Fable is less "open, random & free", but because of this, the story becomes MUCH stronger and easy to follow. Every time I play Oblivion it feels like Im entering a day in the life of an adventurer who has no clear objective other than adventure, while fable is more like Jade Empire, and keeps you riveted to the story.
