The English translation is wrong as well!!! Laisse tomber les filles means "Dont worry girls!! that's what the song is about, about having the las laugh,,,,
@Yavin1v wrong again, it means "GIVE the girls UP", implying the guy should stop being a player..
The song's actually about a girl warning her ex about having too many girls at once, and the punishment they'll give him for breaking their innocent hearts! She advises him to give them up (girls in general) before it happens or he'll be all alone.
@lunaix, your summary of the song is bang on. The song translation of "GIVE the girls UP" is a good English equivalent, but not the LITERAL translation, which is "Leave drop the girls". as:
@ZangaroZen je crois qu'on fera mieux de vous laisser tomber tous à l'évidence que vous parlez de ce que vous ne connaissez pas du tout. TRANSLATION: I'll be better not to pay attention to any of you, since it's clear to see you speak about what you don't know. "Laisser tomber les filles" means "Don't worry about that, girls" or if you prefer "Don't waste your time with it, girls" Salut les gars.
Not really "Don't drop the girls", but actually it says "Drop the the girls".
However it a kind of contruction where the affirmative is meant as a negative.... It all comes from the end of the sentence. It is of the kind : "Do this, and you'll get this bad thing coming". It actually means "don't do this"...
The title of the song is indeed "Drop the girls" and this is repeated quite a lot before invariably she adds the second part "one day it's you who'll get dropped", ".. you that will cry"...
Nice video! thanks for the translation.... I have a question though, the music in the very beginning, is that a part of the actual song?, it reminds me of some other song that I cant recall.
@Riograndeboy, the english translation is mostly wrong. For one it's not "Don't dump the girls" but literally "Let drop the girls", as in stop dating multiple girls
@Riograndeboy, read my other 3 posts to LittleImpaler, as I correct most other translation mistakes, with LITERAL translations. Obviously the literal translations will need to be tweeked for proper english, but atleast the verbatim translation is there. Watch watch?v=9rRCw3pxX1M for an great english version of the song, with many new lyrics.

I'm sure I'll get crucified for daring to have a different opinion to the majority, but I prefer the version April March did.

For a good translation of the song to English look up April March's song "Chick Habit"
"Laisse tomber les filles" translates to English as "give up the girls" as in stop chasing after girls and settle down.

@LittleImpaler, thanks for posting this great song, but most of the French translation is wrong, really wrong in important parts.
Some LITERAL translations corrections below:
"Don't dump the girls" -> "Let drop the girls"
"One day the girl you loves will leave you" -> "One day it'll be on you, we'll know"
"One day it will be you crying" -> "One day it's you who'll be cyring"
"but not on that day, No, I won't be crying" -> "but on that day, no I won't cry"
(con't)

(con't)
"I am not the one who will be crying today..." -> "I'll say it's well made for you, I'll say it's for you, it's for you"
"One of these days you will pay" -> "That day will be all bad"
"One doesn't play carelessly with..." -> "You get the same one day"
"Before long you..." -> "We don't play with impunity with an heart innocent, an heart innocent"
"It won't be long" -> "You'll realize what I say, it won't be long, it won't be long"
(con't)

(con't)
"Luck abandons...flee" -> "Luck adandons those that don't know of the hearts broken. You'll have no one to consul you, you can't steal it
"One day it will be you who is crying" -> "No crying consulation, no person but you, no person but you"
"No one will want...only yourself" -> "And if you call, all what I've told you, all what I've told you" (4 times)

@lunaix, your summary of the song is bang on. The song translation of "GIVE the girls UP" is a good English equivalent, but not the LITERAL translation, which is "Leave drop the girls". as:
Laissez = Leave
tomber = drop
les = the (plural)
filles = girls
ZangaroZen 6 months ago
@jlmagoya, no "Laissez tomber les filles" literally translates to "Let drop the girls", in other words, stop being a player.

@jlmagoya, didn't need your translation, however "je crois", is "I believe" for starters
The translation of "Laissez tomber les filles" is LITERALLY "Leave drop the girls", how you wish to anglacize an equivalent is subjective.
Laissez = Leave
tomber =drop
les = the (plural)
filles =girls
As for "Don't worry about that, girls" that would be "Inquiètez pas de sa, les filles"
Read the accurate song summary post from lunaix
Got a SPECIFIC translation issue then QUOTE it and the correction.

In English, it's "drop the girls" or "letthe girls fall down", NOT "DON'T Drop the Girls"
shmuli9 1 year ago
It's "leave the girls alone" ... Not "don't dump the girls"! LOL. Funny thought.

you should remove or redo the german translation. There is barely a word in the right place.
