@gomergilligan BJ fights primarily at welterweight (170) and lightweight (155). Faber fights at 145 and 135. So don't expect them to fight anytime soon.
faber is fast i still think he can beat mike brown cause if mike brown cant even finish faber off when he had to broken hand i doubt he can beat him in their 3rd match. Dream match bj penn vs faber, mike brown vs GSP
dschmdd ur the idiot. Matt is on another level, but so is Faber. In there fight its clear that Urijah seems to be the better fighter. If Matt didn't constantly take the fight to the ground he deff wouldn't have won.
if you look at fabers jersey its like ama motocross logo just with a mma twist and one know were to get one of those it loks sick!reply to this comment if you do pls it looks badass
Faber is my all time idol, and i believe he is the best lb for lb fighter, But nothing was wrong with the fight against mike brown. YES it was a LUCKY shot, but it happened and the fight was called correctly.
That shot was anything BUT lucky;. pure skillfull shot by a proffesional. MMA fighters dont get "lucky". Faber tried the same elbow I have seen many times before and he missed and payed the belt for it.
I respectfully disagree on that matter sir. I don't belive that any shot in MMA is lucky unless they close their eyes and throw a blind punch. Faber threw a back elbow and got slammed right in the face, that is thinking ahead on Mike brown's part. Same as Fedor vs Arlovski, Fedor saw the flying knee and threw his punch when arlovski dropped his guard. And don't say he will be getting his belt back, because anything can happen.
haha bj would beat the hell out of faber sherk would beat the hell out of faber to, but dana should defentely get that fight going, o and y the hell is couture fighting lesnar? as much as i love couture i dont want to c him die. i fucking hate lesnar and couture would beat his ass if he was in his prime but hes just to fucking old now so all lesnar needs to do is stand up with him and knock him out. hopefully it goes to the ground and couture submits is big ass just like mir did.
LOL. Faber is the best MMA fighter at 145 pounds, and will soon reclaim his title from that faggotass Mike Brown who got a lucky shot in and won due to a fight stoppage that should have been prolonged.
Do you not know that urijah faber looks up penn? and that they train together daily, look what Bj did to sherk at 5'6 155. He would murder little Urijah who is a great fighter,(dont get me wrong) but weighs 145 pounds.
Bj easily man, he is more experienced wioth submissions, has better takedown defense and better striking, not to mention he is naturally 25 pounds heavier, and not in the same weight class.
Im going to say Urijah! So far what have we seen that tells us Urijah is beatable? Hes only lost one fight, and that was 4 years ago..Urijah is faster, his conditioning is much better than BJ Penn..Urijah's conditioning for that matter is better than ANY fighter in MMA.
you can be a BJ Penn fan bro, and he is good! BUT, in reality his conditiong is very weak, all the fighters including himself admit that...once the fight goes past the 3rd round, Penn admits he has a hard time going strong...Urijah's conditioning is FAR better, if youve ever seen his fights, Urijah can stay in there for 10 rounds if he needed to.
he wont have to last 10 rounds...its only 3-5 rounds in MMA..just because Urijah fights in WEC, does not mean he cant stand up in the UFC...I will bet you that in that superfight when it happens, because it will eventually, Urijah will submit BJ Penn within the first 2 rounds..and because I live in Vegas, I would go to the casino and put money on that.
Zuffa owns UFC and WEC, they just have Urijah there for the time being. He'll move up to UFC eventually when they have a new rising star in WEC, maybe then we'll see a urijah/penn fight. As for the submission, I HIGHLY doubt it. BJ Penn is a much better Jiu jitsu artist. The only way I see that fight ending would be a decision or tko.
Heres my belief..if BJ Penn loses against George St. Pierre (which i think will happen), and Urijah loses against Jens Pulver (which i doubt will happen), I think Urijah will be so desperate to not lose his "name", that he will move up to 155 in the UFC and fight Tyson Griffin, and then BJ Penn.
Faber has good conditioning but dont forget even though BJ's conditioning is worse than Faber, Bj's technique is miles ahead. And technique is a HUGE factor in any fight
There is an interview by BJ saying that he wants to focus on his MMA game during his prime which is now. He said he'd be interested in competing in the BJJ tournaments like ADCC but remember that's two different training regimens. To compete in ADCC he has to focus full time in BJJ which would take away from his MMA game. I think the competition is too good in either he chooses so he has to focus on one for now.
Why doesn't BJ ever compete in ADCC? He competed in the brazilian championships. If he's as good as everybody says he is, why not try his luck in ADCC? *I think he can make it pretty far.
