James Bond Moonraker 5tone Close Encounters of the Third kind

It was a bit cheeky putting that 5tone CECOTTK into moonraker, thou it sure got a laugh in the cinema. LOL

I could never figure out how or why this tone was used in Moonraker. Anyone?

@AragornIsStrider Well, both movies have a space element. I imagine Close Encounters was a very popular movie when released in 1977, and fresh in the minds of the Bond producers when Moonraker was filmed in 1978. They required some notes for the key pad, so why not use the alien greeting?

Incidentally, the Q department key pad notes in For Your Eyes Only are apparently to the tune of Carly Simon's "Nobody Does It Better".
