  • @colinstingeray Switch it up. If you do chest 2x a week, lets say Mon & Thurs. Then do incline dumbbell on Mon with a flat bench. Then on Thurs, do decline dumbbells with flyes. That's what I'm doing. Gaining nice size in my chest. Thinking about doing my own video in a few months. lol!!

  • I have a question. Okay, I train each muscle group to failure using the heaviest weight I can lift, and yet the only muscle group that is sore the next day or two and that I have seen any significant strength gains in are my legs. Why is this?

  • @jreily88 because when your trying to get long term results you wanna lift less weight but with more repititions which builds more muscle then trying to lift the most possible

  • @kevin3350 not always, building strength and size arent always the same thing, 10-12 rep range builds size, but using higher weight with 4-6- rep range increases strength

  • @jreily88 Depends on your size now, and the number of reps. If you can't do more than 3 sets of ten reps of lifts for each exercise then you're lifting way too much, and destroying muscle tissue. Nutrition is also important for optimum results. Also if you're looking to build strength and mass, don't lift more than two days in a row. One day focus on arms, shoulders, pecs then the next day your core and legs. It gives the muscles time to regenerate.

  • Can somebody help me! I've always heard you shouldent work the same muscle group more than once a week and he says to do it twice a week, because your not giveing it enough time to recover, so it just keeps breaking down. What's the truth?

  • @alexjs17 Hardcore body builders only train the body part once a week because they do multiple exercises per body part. Regular folks (like me can) work the same muscle couple times a week because we only do a few sets and keep the training to about 2 exercises per body part.

  • STOP DOING DECLINES! The hardest part to build is upper mid. I NEVER touch declines. I may lean forward on dips, but you end up with man boobs ESPECIALLY if you take time off. Your form was good and so was the info on preventing injuries...

    The guy that told me studied medicine, he seems to be a really experienced physiotherapist (probably around mid 50s but fit as hell).

    I personally (newbie and personal XP) think that any movement other than your muscle's is there to help you out, thus decreasing the muscle's work. MY case: when I did my deltoids and started to raise my chest, using too much momentum and such...

  • @ook3vin hi dumbell press is giving you better movement than bench press so the whole chest is being worked on also if you fail with a dumbell you can just drop the weight bench press when your failing you cna do yourself seriouse damage i got my pecs to 52incs with dumbell work out ie press incline press and flys.

  • really, it depends on how you want it, size dosent matter. it just depends on what you want

    i use 15's or 20's when i can easily do 30s. but i dont go to get huge, i do it to do tone, so while you may do 20 presses with 25 lbs but personally i may do 40 15 or 20 lbs. practically same amout of weight, but i stay thin

  • You actually could do it on the floor, just make sure to put pillows where your elbows would hit the floor. The only thing is that you don't get to go as deep with dumbells as you would on a bench. The bench allows you to get a better range of motion.

  • Sorry to hear about your being in a wheel chair.

    I think doing them on the floor is a no no, first off you cant get full range of motion because your elbows cant go but so far down until it reaches the floor.

  • doing them on the floor isn't bad for you, it just means you can't work the chest as good... but stil, you'll get a nice workout.

    letting your elbows go back too far is bad for your shoulders, so doing em on the floor is the safe way to go ;)

  • DB presses do work the chest HARD but barbell lets you go heavy and its only a strain on your rotator cuff if you have bad form. I dont really concentrate on max BB bench but i do use the BB when i do my inclines. To work the upper chest. ANd then DB presses to work the outer. Good pec excercises.

  • a freiend of min had the exact same problem and what it actually was,was that his bigger side was actually his weaker side so ya i dont know but if you r domenant arm is right which was his good arm. than make sure you dont try and build up that arm mainly thou its not good to focus on one arm the body has a pretty good way of evening it out!

  • My right arm is very stronger and bigger than my left arm. Thinking of that maybe I already got my answer of why my left chest is bigger than the right side. It is simply that its harder for the left part to work out. I am taking a lot of push ups. So I have to take push ups, plus something just for the right chest.

  • For boxing i try to tone my chest rather than be huge. im 5'11 i weigh 158lb

    1. 3x20 chest dips

    2. 5x40 push ups

    3. 3x15 flys raise 10lb per set

    4. 3x10 close grip bench raise 10lb a set

    5. 3x10 close grip pull ups

    6. 3 set of dips till failure

    7.3 sets of pushups till failure

    8. 3 sets of close grip pull ups till failure

    i dont take protein nor do i try to be a gigantic meat head but with preotein and a good 6-7 meal diet youll be huge.
