I saw Racing Cars at Portsmouth Guildhall in the late '70's, and they were very good live (they were the support act to Gordon Giltrap - remember him?) Racing Cars did make a second album, but I guess it didn't sell too well? Not the most fashionable band amidst the Punk explosion of the time!

No it's about 1930s dance marathons in the US depression. The last couple dancing win but they go through hell trying to stay on their feet for 24 hours.
