Oskar, I really like seeing your collection. I have the super 8mm feature version, which I first bought when it was released by IFS. It was before videotapes, so it was the first way to enjoy watching the film at home. I saw TCM when it was released and was fascinated and I am still a huge fan ever since! Joe

Yes....strange how they never released a soundtrack for this movie.

1000's of releases of the movie product....none for the soundtrack?

IMHO...it is one of the greatest soundtracks in cinema history.

Obviously...Its not a sort of 'easy listening' soundtrack...but I feel it is very special and totally underrated.

@roachy333 I think it's actually a matter of the source material being destroyed or something - so they were never able to separate the original score from the movie (taking out the dialogue etc). Very sad but that's what I hear :(

@CasEjonz I dont care much for part 2. I havnt even watched em all. Just found part 2 and 3 so far away from the original that I stopped somewhere half way into the third film. I got two early VHS copies of 2 and 3 coming in but just because they're odd releases. Dont think I will be rewatching those movies any time soon.

@GaXGGPR I've seen part 2 and half of part 3. I liked three better than two as it feels less comedic but I never finished it. I just dont like the look of leatherface in any of the later films.

There is obviously an infinite number of cover art and packaging styles out there but I was wondering how many actual versions/cuts of the original film are there.

I'm a fan of the original Dawn of the Dead and I know there are various cuts, ranging from only 90 mins and others as long as 180 mins.

Is this the same with Texas Chainsaw?

@RobotOnLine There are various cuts but not sure how many. More commonly just uncut or cut - its usually the same censorship I think. However, I heard that the first swedish rental from Andarve is technically uncensored for violence but for some reason omits part of the scene with the hammer towards the end .. or something... (I hear the distributor himself just found it to be a bit much or something like that). Havnt had time to look it over though.

Awesome collection, I can alot of passion there. I like VHS, they are an important of movie history and the art work looks cool. I really liked The Beginning (esp Hoyt, awesome character) and the remake was really good too. I have no interest in seeing Part 2, 3 and 4 though. The original will always stand as a classic though.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning (2006) is different to the remake, its the prequel to the remake that was made in 2003 just thought I would point that out.
