@InYourFaceNewYorker Christoph Luxenberg published a work on Islamic translation, and he found that a lot of discrepancies become fixed when certain words are written in syriac, which is an eastern christian/ semetic language. This makes since due to the heavy borrowing from the bible and talmud/torah in the islamic tradition. Much like church philosophers of christianity, islamic philosophers (speaking arabic) translated the word houri as young woman, "hur" is white grapes in syriac.

@sonykroket If you havent already, check out a man by the name of Ibn Warraq. That is a peusdonym as well, but he was brought up in the islamic faith, but now writes out against it. He is very influential, with plenty of details about the islamic faith and its subsequent short-commings. I too find vitriol in religion.
