  • I have read on a number of blogs that regulations were removed or not enacted regarding the fitting of an automatic shut-off valve which would have at least prevented the leak.

    I have also read that it was specifically Dick Cheney who got rid of or blocked such regulation.

    Perhaps DN could examine this angle more deeply and see whether there is any validity to these allegations.

    If these regulations were blocked by Cheney then there appears to be a very clear conflict of interests.
