Thank you for sharing this video...I am an up-and-coming photographer myself and it was inspiring to hear how all these great photographers begin their journeys and got to where they are now.
I didn't know you never had formal education in photography. Thanks for sharing that, you have now inspired me to continue in pursuing my dream to become a photographer stronger than ever. Best of luck!
I really like the way you put your message out there. Each of us should find our own path and forget the stereotypical way of achieving or fullfilling your dream. Do what you love, be creative, work hard, but it wont seem like work if its what you love. Its not photography itself, its the creative expression you bring to it that matters. Really inspiring,Chase!
The irony is that these guys keep harping on about how photography school doesn't matter and the traditional path does not matter yet they want to "educate" us by watching their "show-all" online videos and workshops.
They also ignore that MANY of the "real" top photographers in the world did go to photography school: Michael Thompson, Dewey Nicks etc.
@wallisphoto Dude, he's not ignoring it - he's just trying to inform us about what free possibilities we all have. But you're right too, you can't just learn everything about photography, you have to be taught things too. Whether you not you want to pay for that information is down to the individual. :)
This was very inspiring . I'm gonna do just what you all said - ill make art and love doing it. Im gonna work harder than ever in my life. Chase, you got me. Much love from Finland!
Great talk, enjoyed the entire session, very inspiring! Thanks for posting this up, and I will not forget about the 2 vids / month promise at the end of the video, looking forward to it!
Regarding your remark abut living in the most exited times in photography.....
YES we leave in those times because we have the opportunity to learn and get inspired by people like you.
Probably we are the last generation with access to this wonderful technology to capture many species of plants and animals that won't survive extinction in a few years.
Great Video! Very inspirational....This maybe a dumb question, but I thought youtube only allows videos up to like 15 min. Is there a special Chase Jarvis exception? lol
Nice job Chase. Wish I could have been there. Hopefully next year. Thanks for putting this together and starting a world where photographers actually can collaborate and share instead of hide their secrets of success.
Awesome Key Note! Everyone on stage is truly inspirational. Chase, Vincent & Jasmine; ya'll are the ones that encouraged me to pursue my dreams of becoming a website designer and photographer. Social Art, gotta love it!
Chase, you are truly one of the most inspirational people that I have ever been exposed to. Thank you for all that you have done.... and I'm very looking forward to a more CREATIVE world:)
Chase Jarvis. Living Legend. Superb inspirational photographer with a down to earth attitude. Its an exciting time to be A photographer but this guy is THE most exciting photographer in the world.
I am all for backwards...why do it any different! :-)
