  • I dont understand how people can do this =.= portal 2 sdk is soooo frustrating to me... So many errors so many leaks.. how do u do it?

  • @ShadowDragon1492 You just have to load pointfile. Leaks can sometimes be complex if you start dragging triggers out of their original origin. It's always safer to make push triggers at the origin where you want it, and if you make complex brushwork you always need to find a way to connect everything which is visible well on the grid, and texturize it so that there's no leak. If you start building your basic level using huge blocks it prevents you from being off the grid later on much m

  • @ShadowDragon1492 About the errors:it actually crashed during that session but I cut that moment out. I needed to redo the lights all over again cause i forgot to press ctrl+s. But mostly you know when hammer is gonna crash if you work with it alot. The 2 main reasons are, working and changing instances allot and browsing trough the model browser too quickly. If you know this you just start tip toe-ing around the problems as much as possible and press ctrl+s allot , it's a habit.

  • @ShadowDragon1492 I'm very interested in seeing how that will come to life, how much detail you will be able to put in a map, maybe it happens procedural ? And I wonder how flexible the inputs/outputs are going to be for all the testing props you can place...

  • @CosmicD I'm hoping that you can be able to edit the map in hammer once you upload it. You know, to add the fancy shmansy stuff. Btw, added u on steam ;D. This mod isnt the one where it has that race you have to do with the ball and the orange paint is it?

  • @CosmicD I could not figure out what to do on that race at first :P i didnt realize you could break the windows. Next time you should post something that could give hints, like broken glass on the floor, or custom sign texture that says to break the glass :P

  • OH, and something about the artificial difficulty". Not everything in a portal map should be in immediate plain sight of the user imo.. I can understand that in very big maps that you just cant go hide stuff, but I have such small maps that this shouldn't even be a real issue.

  • that's why we have patches. But I found it ironic that you would actually STOP playing a portal map because of a few misaligned textures and totally pass the other content. I don't earn money with this so I could release this at my own pacing, and also fix stuff that I found at my own pacing, and sometimes you just overlook stuff. I'm not against criticism, but just not so abrupt and making it seems that the rest is bad too.. I'll alway find new bits and pieces to fix :)

  • I'm not trying to be insulting. If you want I can help you with some of the detail work to get it looking nice.

  • I played this mod, I quit about halfway through. The detail work was ridiculous, no offence.

    No man, I'm not trying to insult you - I'm just trying to help you. And the puzzles were mostly easy - they were just had a lot of 'artificial difficulty' if you know what I mean.

    Every single chamber has misaligned textures you never bothered to fix - Some of the textures are even vertex.

    Minecraft has nothing to do with Portal - there's entirely different standards of quality between the two not to mention they're two different genres.
