Thanks for making these videos. It has really helped to take some of the pain out of the Mickey Baker series. It helps to hear what it is supposed to sound like. When I see "blues solo" in the book I think pentatonic scale, these scales are of course much different. They have that Django sound to them.
I like your playing. I have a couple versions of it as well that I uploaded as well. This is the first time I ever heard this solo played by anyone else. I first learned it over 30 years ago and always wondered what it really sounded like as my version has changed so much and is not too much like the original anymore. Now I can play it straight ahead after hearing yours. This was the first book I studied when wanting to learn to play jazz stuff on guitar.
Love your videos. At the risk of sounding lazy and greedy, could you do Lessons 45, 46 & 47? Had MB Vol.1 for decades ($1.95), but don't read music and it is too late to learn with these eyes. I know most of the chords in the book. I'm 69 now and play most genres. Love color chords and subs. If I hear it I can play and remember it still. Hope you can help me. Thanks..........Paul
The book is a bitch, I have had it for a good few years and am only now getting to grips with it. One thiong Rob, he says this solo should be played between the 7th and 12th fret although it feels to me easier in the positions you use. I would like to know the chord progression for this solo. I got into this book as recommended in a Pete Townshend book.
