You could buy your own engines and build them into a wooden superstructure.

For about 100 dollars you could get the engines and receivers if you buy them online.

for this 4.5 kilogram ship :P I used two graupner 600 electric engines of 7.2 volts nominal and two 1500mAh Batteries. It can run about 15 minutes fully charged

the top part of the hull is just woodwork,the underwater part is my test hybrid of a swath/seaslice config.
