  • Anyone else agree?

    Bo Jackson>Marcus Allen

  • @RG3NFL No. It's people like you who think Barry Sanders is better than Walter Payton or Randy Moss is better than Jerry Rice. Its not your talents, its what you do with them. Bo Jackson was a home run threat. But he couldn't beat you catching the ball or blocking or even THROWING it the way Marcus Allen could. Only Marshall Faulk, Walter Payton, and LaDainian Tomlinson were more complete backs than Marcus. I'd put him on par with Thurman Thomas, except he lost about 4 years of his career in LA.

  • When he made that cut in the SB run, it looked painfully slow (and probably was), but it looks like he cut in such a way to position himself just out of reach of the defender. Good example of a man who knows his limits, but will do anything to get the job done.

  • The rerason Marcus Allen isn't higher on the list is simple. Jim Brown, Walter Payton, Berry Sanders, Eric Dickerson, Gale Sayers etc etc ( I know I'm forgetting some).

There were guys, especially at his own position, who were simply better. Still, to be considered one of the top 100 players of all time is a huge honor and Marcus Allen definitely desrves to be on this list. Where exactly he should be is somewhat subjective but I think he was fairly rated.

  • i just looked up this guys stats...and his rushing yards per season aren't impressive at all. im sure he was a great player and all and i know stats aren't that important, but i expected a lot more

  • @fr3shascanb3 ... Did you not watch the video? Allen was not the starting tailback his whole career. For several years, he was Bo Jackson's lead-blocker. Obviously, that put a dent in his career statistics.

  • @emantabrizi yeah i know. i made that comment before i watched the whole video. i fucked up

  • Matt Millen. Ouch. Just let him talk. Don't let him near the front office.

  • great player who doesn't get talked about very much

  • I definitely think marcus allen should be higher since he recognized as a great football player and not just a great running back.

  • @ 3:09 when they slow down that run you can see the "oh shit" in his face and movements lmao

  • My All-Time favorite. No one gave me better football memories. #32 forever!

  • But he did it...

  • Allen should be higher

  • GREATEST GOALINE RB OF ALL TIME.

  • If Al Davis wasnt such an ass, Marcus may have been higher

  • @TheHiLiteShow7 Marcus could have been the all-time leading rusher if not for AL. Who introduced Marcus at the hall of fame?

  • I can see Marcus in the top 60, easy. Great player, came into the league right around the time Shell and Upshaw were leaving. Imagine him running behind those guys; he would have put up some ridiculous numbers. But numbers weren't important to him, except one; wins.

  • He should be top 30 or 20

  • He was like silk...hard for people to see how good he was

  • @Shanec201 agree with u even though bo is my idol

  • Matt MIllen is a fucking asswipe! i really can't believe ESPN gave him a job after his ultimate debacle as the GM of the Detroit Lions, drafting shitty player after shitty player. God did he set that team back like no other!!

  • @mpj32587 I know, and in just 3 years since he was shit-canned Detroit had their first winning season and playoff appearance in a decade and also have an awesome foundation of good young talent.

  • Marcus Allen the greatest RAIDER of all time, point blank period. Bo was the better athlete, but he played FB as a hobby, he said so himself. Bo could of been not only a Raider great but the greatest NFL player in history, if not for the injury, and maybe the injury would not have happened if he dedicated himself to FB full time. And there in lies Bo's legendary status, the "what if’s". But history being what it is, Marcus Allen is and should be ranked higher then Bo in my book.

  • Comment removed

  • Btw, defenses probably had to pray before they faced the Raiders in those days. Could you imagine Bo and Allen in the same backfield? Just scary, too bad it didn't last that long

  • I Would Take Bo Over Marcus Any Day

Bo Is Better Matt, Don't Be Stupid

  • @84slaughter I don't think anyone is denying that Bo was a better athlete and probably a better pure runner though Allen was no slouch either. But Millen is just saying that Allen was a more complete football player which was true. He was a much better receiver out of the backfield and even a better blocker despite being smaller.

  • @ColdJ3 allen was a better running back tha bo ever was !

  • @ColdJ3 Marcus Allen played FB for Bo Jackson who was the HB

  • Dont hate he was better than yall had on your team so suck it- long live raider nation

  • I hated Marcus Allen but he was great. No question about it

  • Amazing talent.. IMO, the best short yardage back, ever... And he did it with guile, not power..

  • I hate how this list has guys like bronko nagurski and sammy baugh high up there. It's bullshit, I would rather have Marcus Allen than Nagurski anyday. Sure they were great for that time but if they were to play now they would get their asses kicked. Allen should be higher too

  • @theirishportugese WTF are you talking about? A lot of those guys were two-way players. They played offense and defense, something a lot of the modern guys either couldn't do or wouldn't do. Thats why they are so high up on the list ahead of the modern guys you cherish so much.

  • He should be way higher then 85 this video proves it he's one of the greatest of all time.

  • @beartrapz916 He's in the top 100, he is one of the greatest of all time. Out of all the players who ever played in the NFL during its 80 plus year history he in the top 100. Thats saying something. How do you not recognize that? Number 85 is a good spot for him. He wasn't even the best player all time at his position, why do you think he should be so much higher?

  • Marcus Allen is way overrated, Bo Jackson put his ass on the bench. Marcus shouldn't be on this list or the hall of fame. In 16 seasons he only had (3) one thousand yard seasons. Darrell Green and Joe Namath shouldn't be on this list either.

  • @CrazyBrah21 You must be crazy brah or at least born in the 90's, if you werent a part of certain era then why you comment on it. Marcus was Marshall faulk before marshall, I dont need stats to back it up, maybe the best short yardage back ever

  • Crazy -- who was the first to have 10,000 yards rushing and 5,000 yards receiving?

Now ask your self, what offense did the Raiders run? West coast offense? NO. Greatest show on turf?

Since u think u know football, when Bo injured his hip against the Bengals, what were Marcus 's stats hat game? Did the raiders miss a beat?

  • @omeganaphtali SOMEONE knows FOOTBALL... THESE FANTASY FOOTBALL PEOPLE will fuck up sports just like that baseball card industry is fucked up. Stats are important but football is more than stats.

  • @CrazyBrah21 Do your research

  • @CrazyBrah21 Overrated? is Chappelle writing your material! the fact that Marcus played fullback shows Bo's limitations as a player. A good coordinator would have utilized both there skills set. Who do you think was on 3rd down picking up that Blitz, who was catching the 3rd pass on a linebacker? Who BO? sorry. look at that video above against Saints, Marcus blocking with a cast. that game Bo left with hamstring pull...Did the raiders miss a beat? No. what was marcus stats...DO YOU RESEARCH

  • @johnnyllayo69 Players better than Marcus Allen and should be on this list: Buck Buchanan, Jerry Kramer the greatest tight end ever John Mackey, Cris Carter, Russ Grimm, Joe Jacoby, Larry Wilson and many other great players. Running Backs better than Marcus Allen: John Riggins, Larry Brown, Chuck Foreman, Terry Metcalf, Eddie George, Jerome Bettis, Ricky Watters, Thurman Thomas and many more average running backs. Allen doesn't even have a highlight video. Marcus is garbage!

  • You shouldn't DRINK this early in the morning!! There's not 6 running backs better OVERALL than Marcus Allen...

  • @TheReason77 remember he pissed of Al when he went to the Chiefs...he is paying for that now

  • @richiswhere STFU

  • 1:10 omg?!

  • Marcus Allen, perennial NFL badass of the '80s.

Matt Millen, the greatest GM in NFL history, weighs in...

-Couldn't NFL Films do a better job and find someone else like Howie Long or Ronnie Lott to present him???

  • @ElCuloChulo To be fair, and I'm a Detroit fan, Millen was a heck of a player and is a very good commentator. I'll never forgive him for what he did to the Lions, but he's not a complete loser. He was a very Good player who didn't know shit about building a team. Nuff said.

  • keep in mind, Allen was benched by Al Davis. his numbers should be much higher

  • Dumb list, where were Tim Brown, Jack Youngblood, John Riggins, Russ Grimm? I think putting in the modern players who are still active was Dumb, and watered down the list. Grimm was twice the lineman than Ogden, I mean c'mon!

  • @ShinobiMusashi1

Why the hating on Ogden? Just because he was 1 of the recent players? Stop with the bullshit. Ogden was the most dominant LT of his years. How about taking out Michael Irvin and Joe Namath instead? They're so goddamn overrated.

  • @darthrevan6 Sure Ogden was great, considering he played 4 games a year against the Bengals and Browns dominant defensive line's of the 2000's. Lets be serious, Ogden is one of the best lineman of the past decade for sure, but there are waaaaaaay too many LT's that made much more of an impact than he did. Russ Grimm for example was the key player in one of the most dominant Offensive line's of all time, did you get that last part, ALL TIME, as in all 91 years of NFL history.

  • @ShinobiMusashi1

Grimm's prime was short, had it been longer he'd make the list.

Granted I wouldn't put much stock on the list however.

  • @darthrevan6 Sure Ogden was great, considering he played 4 games a year against the Bengals and Browns dominant defensive line's of the 2000's. Lets be serious, Ogden is one of the best lineman of the past decade for sure, but there are waaaaaaay too many LT's that made much more of an impact on the game than he did. Russ Grimm for example was the key player in one of the most dominant Offensive line's of all time, did you get that last part, ALL TIME, as in all 91 years of NFL history.

  • man i hate the raiders but that shot of allen running through and around redskins to Autumn wind was chilling.Never had so much respect for a team that I hate.

  • marcus allen most complete runningback of all time

  • @MadPuppets1 Him and Payton I think

    Jim brown too?

  • @ChiefKeewatin Depends on what you mean by complete. Payton could receive, throw, and run, and do all extremely well. Jim Brown just ran. Which, theres nothing wrong with that, but he didn't do all the things Marcus and Walter did.

Now, if you're talking about all time great running backs, then yes, all three of them fit into that category of "complete".

  • @MadPuppets1 Allen was up there, but you gotta give that one to Payton.

  • what's the name of the opening song?

  • I can't believe a selfish, lazy player like Randy Moss is 20 spots higher on the list than Marcus Allen. Just more proof of the stupidity of this list.

  • @emantabrizi .. Amen Brother.. Amen

  • @emantabrizi

yeah joe montana should of been 1 and jerry rice 2

  • @RayWilliamJohansen Wrong. Joe Montana was successful because of Jerry Rice, not the other way around.

  • @kr4yzi32k

joe montana won 2 superbowls WITHOUT jerry rice

he threw NO interceptions in all 4 superbowls

    11 touchdowns

in the winning drive against the bengals he was hyperventilating and the other players ran the wrong play but he kept his cool and scored the winning touchdown

  • @RayWilliamJohansen Soooo, he would have won 3 more without Rice too? I don't understand your point, unless you are trying to say that he didn't need Rice because he won 2 superbowls without him. I think if you ask Joe Montana, he would say he definitely needed Rice and Rice may say the same of him. Rice should be the number 1 best player because if the rings don't speak for themselves, his records should.

  • @kr4yzi32k hey the patriots could of won without him just look when he got injured and as for tom brady he has not played with another team unlike montana and taken them to the playoffs and montana played in a time where all qbs were not given special treatment like peyton or brady they did not get help from the referee and they didnt bitch to as for brady he played it "safe" his kicker was the montana on the team he is hands down the best kicker of all time
  • @kr4yzi32k Rice needed Montana a whole Hell of a lot more than Montana needed Rice. The fact he won 2 without him is a testament to that and YES, Montana probably would of still won the other 2 SBs without him. Football is a team sport and those 49ers teams were good. Out of all the positions on the field, the WR's success is the most dependent on someone else, in this case the QB. The WR, to be successful, needs the QB to get him the ball. And if the QB sucks, well...you can figure it out.

  • @emantabrizi lazy? i don't know about that, now

  • @bktenn29 ... Are you serious?

  • @emantabrizi its greatest players not the best work ethic top 100

  • @raiderlizard33 ... Don't kid yourself. The greatest players ARE the ones with the best work ethic. Marcus Allen was definitely a greater player than Randy "I don't give a shit" Moss.

  • @emantabrizi

    Couldn't agree more...

I love Randy, but his attitude pisses me off.

Anyone with the kind of God-given talent Randy has should fell the obligation to be the best and go 100% on every play. It's sad to see how fast he declined in 2010, but that alone shows you the kind of work ethic he has.

  • @ElCuloChulo ... Exactly! Moss could have been so great. I always think back to his rookie year when he dominated every secondary in the league. If he had Jerry Rice's work ethic...my GOD, he would have been amazing!

  • @emantabrizi

    His first year was INCREDIBLE.

Normally, receivers tend to struggle their rookie season because of the complexity of digesting an NFL playbook in one off-season, especially since the NFL is so much more different than even the top college football programs.

Moss came in and DOMINATED. It's even amazing when you consider the fact he played for Marshall, a Division I-AA school.

That alone shows you the kind of talent he had/has. He really "could have" been THE BEST, no doubt.

  • @emantabrizi Randy Moss deserves a top 20 spot. Marcus Allen is a top 30 pick. he didnt deserve this bad a spot but he isnt better than Moss

  • @RandyMoss2 ... You're correct. He does deserve a top-20 spot...on the list of biggest douchebag players in professional sports.

  • @emantabrizi lol I couldn't say it any better.

  • @emantabrizi i got two words for ya...tecmo bowl.the best one two punch in history.bo jackson and marcus allen were my idols when i was a young teen

  • @emantabrizi plus he is a compulsive pot-smoker and he gives up on plays

  • @emantabrizi couldn't have said it better myself.

  • @emantabrizi randy moss is lazy and is wat..3rd in receiving yards all time? and he didnt even try all the time? that might be why, just a guess

  • @lazydevon13 ... Randy Moss is 5th all-time, actually. Jerry Rice has the record with nearly 23,000 yards...8,000 more than Moss. Rice had half the talent and ability of Moss, but you know why Rice accomplished so much more? Work ethic. Moss could have had ALL the receiving records. What a waste.

  • @emantabrizi i agree with you completely, but this list isnt about work ethics, if it was moss wouldnt be here, marcus allen is lower because randy moss probably accomplished more and is well known, yes i think this list is off a bit too though, and every1 on this list is so good that i dont mind it off a little, and they play diff positions so its a little tougher to compare marcus allen and randy moss and the 20 spot difference

  • @emantabrizi Two other reasons Jerry Rice accompished so much - Joe Montana and Steve Young.

  • @GoongalaGoongala ... LOL, well, of course. It all begins with the quarterback. That's why Rice should not be #1 on this list.

  • @emantabrizi Randy Moss is still amazing....

  • @emantabrizi Moss is the best WR imo

  • @ActzReActz ... Based on what?

  • @emantabrizi when he plays he doesnt even look like hes trying, getting 1 handed catchs.

  • @ActzReActz ... Jerry Rice was the same way, but with half the physical ability of Moss.

  • Even in this little piece we see just how completely stupid Matt Millen is

  • I want The Diesel and I'm a Steelers fan

  • Imagine if Marcus played with Roger Craig in Bill Walsh's offense..A true complete back..Probably the greatest Goalline running back of all time..

  • Too low of a ranking for Marcus Allen. Top 50

  • Marcus Allen was a pro's pro. As versatile and tough as any RB to play the game and definitely a fantastic addition to this list of Alltime Greats.

  • @RAV52 Hell Yea, Eric Dickerson was my favorite RB but living in Los Angeles you couldn't help but to notice how complete and smooth Marcus Allen was. Too bad Al Davis screwed up part of his career. Marcus shoulda been higher too.

  • Didn't he also fuck OJ's wife?

  • @CoolerKing37 with isotoners on....

  • @CoolerKing37 takes two to tango, she went after him too..Women always like going after your brothers, best friends ect..She probably slept with A.C. too..

  • number #85...a load of crap....
