  • Unreal song, unreal band. Never gets old. Love this band and I only hope the best for them. I see them as the only band in the world to not compromise anything. VIVA THE SUNDAYS!

  • They are the only band I know that I like everything they ever played. Everything.

  • Harriet Wheeler....*sigh*

  • YeaH !

  • I remember seeing them in a small club in Salt Lake, on this tour. It was fantastic, even though it was well over 100 degrees in the club.... not to mention, the band had to play a couple of songs twice, for their encores. Ah, the beauty of a new act headlining.

  • i love this song !!!!!!!!!! :)

  • This song is So Releaxing

  • takes me way back love this band

  • I am 43 years old and I have never heard a more angelic voice than Harriet Wheeler's.

  • oh god, I spent most of the 90s in a zone of extreme metal and indie/shoegaze etc didn't sit well at all but wow! my mistake, this stuff is so good it's shocking.

  • and it continues.Love you Dot.

  • I miss you guys!…, where are you?

  • devine...

  • Rough Trade must have been a miserably run record label to have the Sundays and the Smiths and still go broke

  • @12inchvertical Yet, somehow they managed to pull their arses out and get it back together.... Rough Trade, that is. I just purchased a couple of new LP's last year on the label.

  • THATS MY LIFE, NEW WAVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEEEEEAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTT THAT!

  • Makes me think in Beverly Hills 90210, or maybe Party of Five, don't you?

  • who dislikes The Sundays!??!?!?!?

  • beats the Saturdays hands down

  • cemetry gates much?

  • A very attractive woman with a beautiful voice......it just doesn't get much better then that!

  • this is where the story ends. the beginning of the 90s, music became a commercial mess in the mid 90s and bands like this tried to leave rock and roles flame alive, along with gg allin and othere underground rocks groups.

  • what ever happend to this band,it pains me to see REAL talent fail just as they are stating out,i love this band, this version of this song and espically "summertime".if they ever get back together i will be the first in the que to buy a ticket

  • Musical bliss!!

  • I began searching for the Tin Tin Out version, since that was what I remember from my childhood, then I found this. I can't believe how beautiful this song and her voice is. It's infinitely better and now I can't stand the Tin Tin Out version!

  • @smiddyman Tin Tin Out version is horrid once you've heard the original.

  • Ulul kayo.

  • me gusta :)

  • Is it me or does music really suck these days?

cant be a age thing probably just common sense...

  • now that's funny!!!!!! it does look like a chimp on the thumbnail. lol!!!!

  • ..ES LO POCO QUE RECUERDO DE UN TERRIBLE AÑO

QUÉ HACE QUE MI SENTIR DOLOR EN LOS OJOS

Y QUE NUNCA SE HA PENSADO QUE LOS LIBROS QUE TRAJISTE ...

  • @zorrodave2008

  • Remember I was here.Thai 7:18PM 11/29/2011

  • 106.7 KROQ 106.7

  • Wonderful song.Thanx for the memories

  • Great tune

  • I wonder how many people are here because this was on the Victoria's Secret playlist...

  • @aegisXcore Victoria who?

  • @MegaAce04 are you under the impression that in 1994/5 (whatever) everyone was listening to the sundays? because they weren't you know. they were listening to the same shit we listen to now.

  • @louiecostello Actually, at that time (the early-mid 90's), we had a lot more options to listen to. We had the Seattle rock bands (Nirvana, AIC, SG, PJ, etc.), alternative rock (STP,Smashing Pumpkins, etc.), singer-songwriters/pop bands (Mazzy Star, The Sundays, Sarah Mclachlan, Dave Mathews, etc.), and we also had electronic-esque alternative groups/artists (Poe, Sneaker Pimps, etc.).

The awesome thing, alternative radio was playing all of them at one point. Everything but country and rap.

  • @WarmothGuitarist alternative radio still plays (some) good stuff nowadays too, and there's the internet. actually since getting the internet the most i encounter trite chart toppers is on youtube comments (especially one particular, unfortunate young lad from 'merica). the way people has listened to music has changed, and whilst indie (dont squirm you know its true) guitar music had quite a few outlets in the early 90s, and an alternative audience were catered for, it doesnt mean they wern't

  • weren't just that- an alternative audience. and its an audience that still exists today- those who are willing to go and search for music, like deerhunter, animal collective (no search necessary), beach house, real estate, yo la tengo.. you'll never find the new audience complaining about the state of music, only the old ones. and yes while it would be nice to have a 2011 equivalent of the pastels or pavement, we dont need one, because we have other, equally valid bands. like ballboy!

  • @WarmothGuitarist I'm new to this (15), and am starting to discover an amazing world of artists. last weak i discovered fionna apple/one of my favorite masterpieces of all time ("never is a promise"). I have also been watching alot of underground indie movies/mainstreem movies and finding INCREDIBLE artists. please, what do the abriviations stand for for the bands you just mentioned? :)

  • @sTapleEVA

    STP is Stone Temple Pilots.

    AIC is Alice in Chains.

    SG is Soundgarden.

    PJ is Pearl Jam

  • @sTapleEVA Check out The Ocean Blue and Ned's Atomic Dustbin for more great music from this era. The Sundays continue to be my fave, though.

  • @TimeForTimer thanks, i put them on my to do list :) I have not really gotten too deep into the sundays, I'm at throwing muses at the moment/this song by one of the singers thats something like "your ghost". obsessed with that one at the moment, and bjorks string quartet compositions ^^

  • @MegaAce04 wow, are you a hypocrite. "fuck you fuck you f uck fuck fuck" and then youre like "peace". i see how it is - only when its convenient for YOU do you wish "peace", otherwise, everyone can go to hell. let the kids have their selenas and justin beibers. you had your idols that adults probably thought ridiculous. i did too. so why the venom towards them? i dont wanna hear justin beiber, but my neice does - and i love that it brings her joy.

  • @jas22 peace from little italy

pd: don't fuck with my favorite word you cunt

  • @MegaAce04 no ones censoring your words. im just pointing out your immaturity, even though you have a handle on that yourself.

  • @MegaAce04 i totally love the sundays, but you sound like a super troll. mellow out dude

  • @patrickJMT i support u

  • @patrickJMT you got me an A in calculus pat! and yeah the sundays are awesome

  • @beats299 two for two! : )

  • @heather13fml

Recently heard the Tin Tin Out version and it sounded fine to me.

This version sounds as though it has the advantage of Autotune or echo

    chamber.

  • TERRAFIRMA

  • tin tin out did it but made a mess of it

  • Fantastic song and singer. \wonderful memories

  • 58 dislikes ?? 58 TWATS !!

  • SNTR's cover, if it's the one I'm thinking of & heard in Somerfield once, is fucking terrible.

  • so this is where the chimp story ends...

  • High School memories

  • What hell is all that talking about chimps? Dont be an ape and listen to the music!

  • Ever hear a song so beautiful that it can make you ENJOY being depressed? This is one of those songs.

  • @notoriouszig you have put my sentiments into words.

  • whatever happened to this band?

  • @Vispateresa3 I think I saw them in an interview, and she married one of the band and they had babies and didn't have time for the band. (I think)

  • everything i ever wanted to say was wrong was wrong was wrong was wrong was wrong... wow.really?

  • from the thumbnail of this video, i thought it was a chimp at the microphone. nothing against the lead singer she is very pretty and looks nothing like a chimp, so idk i thought i was gunna see a chimp

  • @Sieist23Jahrealt LOL LOL I thought the same thing! I was all like "Planet of the Apes" clip or what?

  • @Sieist23Jahrealt Don't sweat it. The first time I saw the thumb for this, I thought it was a shot of a glass elephant on a windowsill. It's the size of the shot, the coloring of the frame and the angle of the shot; it creates a bit of a distortion to some (many? show of hands?) viewers.

  • @Sieist23Jahrealt I had the same impression. Either a chimp or a mouse. :-/

  • @Sieist23Jahrealt hahah same here

  • @Sieist23Jahrealt same here

  • es como sentir el feeling jajajaja..estoy drogado

  • heres where the story ends..so melancholy..long live the wave...

  • used to listen to this over and over, love it to bits.

  • Love love love this band.... i remember Roling Stone magazine gave the cd 3 1/2 stars when it came out and i went to buy the cd without even listening to it first...

And it stayed in my cd player permanently for at least 6 months after that

  • Would absolutely love her to cover 'Lana del rey' Video Games.

  • @nykola1234 I would love her to cover there she goes by the La's.

  • @gammergq Sixpence None the Richer did a decent cover of it.

  • @mmontes15 I know it was some cover as well I use to love their cover when I was young in school and college but as much as I love Leigh Nash voice I feel Harriet Voice is made more for the song.

  • @mmontes15 So did tin tin out too.

  • Yes!!!!

  • Harriet Wheeler absolute goddess!!!!!!

  • Magical!

  • THE most beautiful voice ever! Great song too!

  • Love the sweet english guitar

  • @steveOo0o you mean spanish guitar....

  • @baskovich Err nope.

  • OH SO BEAUTIFUL,,,,,, THIS SONG MAKES ME ACTUALLY WANT TO CRY !!!

  • can anyone please also upload 'leave this city' a beautiful one

  • wow - how beautiful was she - funny how they could play up beat happy beautiful songs and yet still make you feel like your cat just died - such emotion in that voice and those songs - the Sundays great band

  • I thought I was the only one who likes this band. :-) I'm happy to be wrong. Check out "Goodbye" off of Blind. Pure genius there too, as well as most of Reading, Writing, And Arithmetic. I just ordered their 3rd album today on amazon. :-)

  • @DerbyPrime this whole album was the soundtrack to my last two years of High School. More than any other band from that time in my life, this is the band that has continued to always be a favorite. I can honestly say that they are one of my top two to three favorite bands of all time.

  • this song is pure soul, lovely.

  • @bockybalboa lesbianism isn't for your pleasure, man.

  • This song is astonishing. It is clever, it is witty, it is honest. It will forever remind me of being 17.

  • Harriet Wheeler, you saved my life so long ago and my life has been more complete with your voice and your sound. You make me believe. Thank you.

  • Harriet Wheeler, what a voice she had . If it wasn't for Liz Fraser she be the voice of the decade and beautiful as well.

  • 58 people don't like Sundays

  • es muy linda la melodia y la voz de esta cancion, pero suena como una cancion triste!! de que habla el tema?? cual es la interpretacion en español

  • I was so in love with Harriet back then. She was such a beauty

  • really does sound like a modern day song and i like it :D

  • need to TIME MACHINE THIS TO the 21st century and beyond

  • This and "You're only one I know" are just so so good. And I actually like their version of "Wild Horses" better than the Stones version.

  • This songs starts and I'm immediately walking down a peaceful meadow, the afternoon sun in the glorious, cloud-filled sky shining brightly but softly. I know not where nor when I am but I know that I am going, inexorably, HOME.

  • Truly Beautiful Song :)

  • incredible song, always bringing good memories

  • this song can make you a better person

  • its like magic harriet ;)

  • 56 people have no souls

  • @axonassault oh shut up let people have there opinion

  • @tumamaconchimpun

y de que habla la letra? no logro entenderla con los traductores...y mi ingles es pesimo!! ... tiene una melodia muy linda, pero parece algo triste...

  • I was a normal person until the police started jambing needles up my eyeball. This song is resonating quite badly in my head. Does this song mean something?

  • They remind me of The Smiths, which is a good thing of course.

  • My favorite Sundays song!! What an amazing voice~~~~

  • I love this band, Wish they would make a come back :)

  • Excelente interpretación :D

  • @jengibre1978

    de qhe habla el tema?

  • I fell in love with Robert Desmond and unfortunately this songs lyrics were the decription of the demise of our love story. Every time I here this song I wonder if he ever thinks of me?

  • I fell in love with a girl in my first year of University in 1990.. It didn't go well, to say the least. Turned out she was a lesbian. This song is all I have of her two decades later.

  • Comment removed

  • @trapper439 My daughter's a lesbian.

  • @trapper439 Really fell in love with a lesbian and you still are in love with her... its 2011 get over it...

  • @trapper439 Nothing wrong with lesbianism as long as both chicks are hot.

  • @trapper439 lol wut

  • I guess 55 people prefer Mondays

  • Cemetry gates. but just as beautiful. Harriet has a truly gorgeous voice.

  • Now i can sing this song without crying ...feels good!

  • she has the sexiest voice ever

  • @floopsie666 Oh good it's not just me.

  • An utter rip-off of "Cemetry Gates", but still very likeable. A favorite of mine in 1998, starting college.

  • This is world class pop music.

  • Where is Harriet now, i imagine she is singing her sweet melodies to her children while her husband lies on her breast. The wold outside rages in torment, but her family is safe in the comforting tapestry of her song.

  • id shag her ;)

  • OMG FUCKING A-THIS IS THE SHIT! I miss 90s music-every song had emotion and alot had meaning unlike the crap they have today

  • One of my favorites since my youth years. It brings back so many great memories, and makes my heart relive the good times with past friends.

  • Y asi termina todo? :S

  • por ahí lei que ellos eran seguidores de los Smiths y bueno tienen esa suavidad pero son autenticos y es una música deliciosa.

  • 53 losers it is incredible

  • the best pop song in all times.

  • MUY BONITA CANCION QUE ME HACE PENSAR EL PORQUE LA MUJER ACTUA A VECES POR INSTINTO SIN MEDIR LAS CONSECUENCIAS ,NI A QUIEN DAÑA.

    UN GRATO MOMENTO,UNA AVENTURA,UN RETO?

    MIS RESPETOS POR ELLAS.

  • love this song and the album reading writing and arithmetics , lovely voice

  • i love the sundays!

  • if they played this music in Iraq and Afghanistan I swear both wars would end and no one would be fighting.

  • sounds like it was made yesterday, not 1990.

looks like it was made yesterday also.

    absolutely contemporary.

  • @marymtl2010 it could have been made yesterday...if you burned a copy, lol.....eh....yeah.

  • Thank you year1976,for uploading this fantastic song and wonderful video.
