Yes, there were many ridiculous/bad movies (Blue Hawaii was silly and Stay Away Joe just painful to watch). I know it, everyone who has seen them knows it, and Elvis knew better than anyone. We also know bad scripts make bad movies that even talented actors can't save. Hell, Elvis COULD act. His better movies show this: King Creole, Jailhouse Rock, Flaming Star, Follow That Dream, Wild in the Country, Change of Habit. But SOB Parker said no, silly cheap flicks got the most buck. A fucking shame.
The good Elvis movies are King Creole, Loving You, Flaming Star and many others! Ok paradise Hawwaiian Style is not a good movie but it was a contract made by The Colonel! Elvis did only 31 movies and john wayne made 152 movies! Do you think all his movies are great also...

I am CALM! Girl Happy Blue Hawaii Speedway........these are movies I curl up with in a nice comphy chair and dream I am Elvis. Elvis movies were great. Ok, ok, calm down. What killed Elvis were the yes men, psychophants and ELVIS himself. Col. Parker didn't help either. Hollywood destroyed the cool 50's Elvis and turned him into a parody. He wanted serious roles and all they came up with were silly scripts and stupid showtunes. Hollywood is garbage and didn't want his "hillbilly band" playing the music. That hillbilly band was instrumental in creating the classic Elvis. While Elvis was making Girl Happy, the Beatles conquered the world.
