I have brought a few JVC cameras in the past but will never buy crappy JVC cameras again after my CCD problem with one of them. DO NOT BUY JVC CAMERAS..
Apparently, its NOT the CCD in MOST cases...its the lens diaphragm. You either have to strip the camera down and gently prise the diaphragm apart, or, do what I did WITHOUT stripping it down ...and give it a good tapping around the lens area .....with a joiners pencil or something similar.
Have the camera switched on and 'Record' on. Ignore the blank screen and start beating. It only takes seconds and it should fire up.
i tried everything u sugested for fix mine, same camera and same problem... :( and its still broken, if u can suggest anything else id be very greatfull..
I need help my JVC GR-D30U has the same problm i looks the same as that but it dont have the big ass battry iv tryed every thing and dont know what to do.
Hi, Exactly the same problem with mine. I can get it to work believe it or not by shining a bright led torch into the camera lens whilst putting the cap on and off a few times. It kick starts the CCD assembly. Otherwise for a permanent fix get a new CCD base
i have the exact same camera and i got this error a couple years back..just got the camera off the shelf again...goin to try and do what you did when you fixed it...by the way is it still running?
The ccd is knacked just changed mine on gr-d53ek bought a new 1 on eBay but you need to get service manual to show you where it is and you have to desolder old 1 off and solder new 1 on good luck
I took the wire cord thing out of both ends, on the video you only see me undo it at one end then put it back in I figured out if you undo a few screws you can take it out of the other end deeper into the camera as well I did that then left it for 24 hours and it worked! :D For me it did anyway. :)
Before anybody asks why i need my camcorder fixing when I've clearly done this video with something else, it was a camera I was borrowing from my friend.. So yes I do need my camcorder fixing! Just to clear that up :P

Obviously, don't use anything metal or too heavy.
