Americans should be proud of the Acela and the achievements of Amtrak for pulling off 150 mph trains given such powerful anti-rail lobbys in the US-Aviation/tire/oil.auto companies.
@TrainGuy247 I knew it was supposed to go 150, but it was fun verifying that it did. Very smooth and quiet at that speed! And thanks for the kind words!
I too would like to ride the Acela some day. Now if the Florida HRS does get built (most likely it will since it will be a huge jobs creator) it will only cost 15-30 bucks to ride and the first phase of the route is only 84 miles, but will travel at about 170mph from Orlando to Tampa. The funny thing about its that when it does get built the Florida HRS will become America's fastest train. Possible the fastest train in American history although I have to look into it more.
hey, glad you did that, might shut up a few people now,,lol great video too

I used the same app on my iPhone to verify the speed of a regional recently. As long as the GPS signal is good, it works

That would be either Mansfield, Ma or Kingston RI. BTW If you've ever been on Amtrak before you'd know that it tops out at 150. =) Great vid though.
