  • wait? this is real rifle not airsoft!!!

  • Pillar bedding vs.glass bedding or have both done for the Max. in performance?

Haven't had it done yet but thinking about it and how much do gunsmiths usually charge to pillar bed a rifle ???

  • pillars make things more repeatable as the pillars do not care about temp and humidty as much as Wood does. its important to remember bedding while sealing humidity out in theory likely changes at least with temp if not both.

you might want me to do your pillaring for a fee :D

  • I just tried that. I got the front hole wrong and I had to make use of round file and fill in my mistake...I hope it can take the abuse now that It has epoxy in the back of the front pillar instead of wood.

  • is this better than glass bedding?

  • @futureusmc100 It compliments bedding of an action. you can do both together

  • does pillar bedding automatically ensure a free-floating barrel?

  • @nasnasnas91 No, only free floating your barrel can do that.

  • Aw spelled name wrong damm you ipod touch auto correct

  • @Anykidwolfy i think its so the action or barrel wont be in contact with the stock

  • @hamsterhamz It allows you to tighten the screws to say 65"lbs without compressing the wood, and allows for the wood to expand/contact/warp with warmth/humidity changes. Also ensures no strain/twist on the action when the screws are tightened - that's why he didn't glue in the pillars unattached to the action.

  • He needs his drill press worked on

  • And that's the way it is ... BITCHES! :)

  • and thats the way it is bitches

  • You skipped a few streps but otherwise a good video.

  • any reason why 10000 of an inch protrusion (0.01 in = 0.254 millimeters).

is that number significant to something specific in the rifle or is just an arbitrary number. can it be flush? or in between flush and 0.254mm. what if it was bigger say 0.5mm???

  • @fonitrus my guess is that it is to accomidate distance off the wood for glass bedding later.

the pillar holes seemed a bit large.
