  • Built this rail in big circle, then you will get a perpetual motor. So the wheels will back to its start position. ;)

  • This seems to work but if you notice the shield is only between the two sets of magnets. If he would place the same shield in the launch area as well as the end of the second set of magnets, the wheels would get stuck everytime! If you're going to show a gate being crossed then all gate must be build identically including shields! This really proves nothing.

  • please see my comments @PESWiki/CLaNZeR mike peine =How to make the Vgate WORK!!!! GREAT use of a keeper! See also antostoof1 = how to make the Archimedes perpetual motion device WORK!!!! you almost have it too.

  • if it would work reverse it would be OUT OF THIS WORLD... (reverse I mean: turn the rotator 180° and put it on the right side) if it also passes the middle section... its AWESOME!! =)

  • Oh, sorry...I've talked to fast XD You've already answered me in the video :D

  • WOOW...so, if we use these technics, we won't need electricity for magnetic trains? Interesting. Can you explain me the polarization of each magnet? I'm so curious!!! :D

  • @wcemichael No, the sheilding only pushes the v gate lap further, cancelling out the magnets sheilded, this in turn would just create a gap of no force, which would allow resistance (from friction and other minimal resistances). trust me, make a few more v gates, and it would NOT keep going. the only convincing one i have seen of the v calloway is the one that actually makes the motion magnet (in this case a wheel) jump the start of the v, which i THINK... is positive/plus energy... I THINK

  • no! Lets see her/him make a couple more lines for the wheel to run over, it will eventually stop. It needs to produce + energy not equal energy. at :40 ish, it sits in the middle.. this automatically shows it won't work, because at ANY point of magnetic feild contact, it should not stop. so if it was put in the centre, it should have kept going otherwise it's just equal or negative(resisted) output of energy to the wheel.

  • What happens if you take the steel plate out?

  • That's what I thought was missing on everybodys Vgate, a magnetic shielding. You did it. You found the missing part to the Vgate that allows the the magnets to pass over the part where everybody elses stops dead.

  • This has to be one of the most "functional" magnetic linear motors I've ever seen. I understand that over-unity is just not possible, but when I get the money I'll try this design in a circular configuration just to see what will happen.

I know the futility of this but it's just so much fun playing with it all.

  • If that thing would continue to make it over the gate again and again, then you should make a big long one and wrap it around the outside of a giant wheel, then use the roller thing as a stator. Those slanted gates are a good idea.

  • Why don't we make a car based on this! XD

When we drive every cellphone will click on my magnetic car!

    Ö!

  • My favorite is the wife nagging mocking/nagging him quietly at 1:57 when his roller falls on the ground (beautiful floors by the way).

  • Nice little gizo kid.

  • imagine a tube transportation system like this. Fuelless transportation.! FTW

  • The Idea is very nice, but if you make a circle out of this thing, it would get even slowler and slowler. But it's possible to build a PM/ Motor out of magnets. Look at the channel of "querdenker79".

  • you should experiment with spinning object..it's the way to go...other wise good job

  • nice...

  • can you make one with more sections? so it keeps going?

  • Hi, I am building now my first V gate engine. Can you tell me where you buy magnets? I bought at 'forcefield' (wondermagnet-com) . Maybe you cnow where I can buy more types for acceptable prices?

    thanks!

  • make a longer version of this and see how long it will move for even more interesting would be if you could getit t into a circle like this

  • now put that in a large cylindrical housing with three shafts connected to each stator/roller mounted vertical to decrease gravitational pull on the upstroke...increase overall cylindrical length and multiply the v-gates to increase torque... What do you think about that? Thats my idea-I made a video of it on paper...think it will work?

  • Do you realize what this means.

  • LOL Wats the metal thing in the track for? Trying to smooth the transition from one V to the next?

Also, what's the wheels, wood or plastic? (sounds plastic, but eh..)

  • good

  • Sorry, but I had to LOL very loudly while watching this vid :-) YOU are trying to solve an immense puzzle that can potentially solve a big part of the worlds problems. The man. Of course. History shows that very well. And what is the woman doing? Hahahahaha..... need I say more? ;-)

  • i don't understand what is happening? explanation?

  • Another viewer made this comment that sums it up. "what you have here is the magnetic equivalent of running a marble down a slope, albeit a slope with a bump in the middle. The force isn't all in the same direction. As an analogy, you have made a ski slope and are hoping this means you can make a free running roller coaster circuit. Hopr this helps.

  • how is it built i can't seem to find an explanation that is ledgible. what is making it work so i can recreate it at my house.

  • The axle is stacked magnets, like they would stick together naturally and pressed into wheels. The rows of magnets get glued N down on the top row as you are looking at the video. The bottom row, S down. The spacing etc. isn't critical. I just guessed. The N end of axle either repels or attracts the row magnets and reverse for the S end axle magnets..

  • @GGAlice1 Look up magnetic V gate. the magnets are aranged the same on a wheel and the wheel turns buy itselfe but always stops at the point where the V gate starts over. This little demo shows how a properly cut and placed magnetic shielding can "confuse" the magnetics long enough for momentum to get it past the stopping point.

  • so the "V" is made of 2 lines of magnets, each line is made of a strip of magnets with the same polarities all facing the same direction (up), and the other line is the opposite pole facing up. k gotcha thanks a bunch.

  • The force with which the axle come off of the track is less than the force it took to push the axle onto the track.

  • aw thats cute his first baby steps in the field of magnets..............childish

  • I don't like to disappoint you but what you have here is the magnetic equivalent of running a marble down a slope, albeit a slope with a bump in the middle. The marble comes of the end pretty fast -faster than when it started. but when you try to feed the end back to the start there is a big step to get up.

As you saw at 0:30 and 2:00 the force isn't all in the same direction. As an analogy, you have made a ski slope and are hoping this means you can make a free running roller coaster circuit.

  • Die Abschirmung der Magneten macht hier zwar überhaupt keinen Sinn, aber sieht toll aus!!!

  • Have you tried organizing the magnets that way inside a cylinder of the same type of metal, and attempted to force the to rotate inside the cylinder?

  • would this run up a small gradient?

  • what are you using as a sheild?

    Mu Metal?

  • No just plain steel

  • the sticky point eventually will kill momentum ,therefore will have to be absoulutely supressed in order for a motor to run freely for at least a decent amount of time

  • Have u tried making it running in the other way, by attraction. Film a second part it'd be great

  • but it really needs more and similar gates to prove that it works. how much less force(speed) does the second (rightmost) get ..

  • this is the only kind of cool v-gate video I can find

  • to close the circle ..use a steel bar not a cylinder magnet !

  • I've noticed you've mentioned this in other videos, too. I'm curious how this will allow passage through the "gate". A steel bar will simply be attracted to all the magnets; I believe he's chosen a cylindrical magnet to utilize the magnetic property of repulsion, so I'm not understanding how a steel bar will help. Please explain. Thank you.

  • magnetic shield ! see on you tube

  • sorry for the answer, but my idea is under a patent registration process

  • This is exactly my point. It is possible to overcome the Sticky Points with momentumn,

  • To make it continual (a circle) you would have that sticky spot at each intersection with no room to get up momentum and go over it. Creative though.

  • I saw something like this many years ago under the heading SMOT I think. which used magnetic flux to pull a 14mm ball bearing up a ramp equal to the height of the bearing from a rest position. Jean Naudine I think also did some experiments with the setup.

  • @ 2.00: lol!! xD

A very interesting discovery (right word??) btw !!

  • I like the way you tapered off the edge which is different to all the other motors I have seen. What is that strip (aluminium)?

If you are for real and there are no tricks then you could try the skateboard wheel but use that tapered pattern you have constructed (a patent might be appropriate buddy), we might have something that can generate energy from a drive shaft. Could you please try and put it on you tube?

If you are not for real, you suck.

  • And also have a look at using a magnet as a bearing.

  • build one about 50ft in length. then a cart with 8 sets of wheels spaced 6 inches distance from each. this in itself would make the make the jerky actions disappear as long as you make sure the spacing never hits the gates at around the same time. it will propel forward at a constant speed until the field is broken, eg no more magnets.

  • Cool...Make it longer.

  • Toll aber ich benutze keine Abschirmung nur

    Magneten zur Gegenmaßnahmen.

  • I have an update to this. I'll put it. up later

  • "sticky-point" nervt wa? Frisst ganze Energie auf. Na ja mach weiter wenn es dir Spaß macht.
