@lambosnicko how could a cover ever be "better" than the original? that doesent make sense. how can you even decide that one persons music is "better" than another? its opinion and taste, the original was played exactly the way steve vai wanted it to sound, and cesar's cover was played exactly the way he intended it to sound, accuracy, or theatrics...bends and vibrato do not necessarily equal better or worse music. the pause when they want to, they shred when they want to.

Cesar is the shit when covering Vai, but he should be his own man and start playing his own music and find his own style and make a name by himself. Years ago I saw this japanese dude that could play note by note and along the recordings of artists like Tony MacCalpine, Paul Gilbert, Vinnie Moore but he just went so far, he's now a salesman in some mall in Tokyo.

Personalmente creo que Steve es genial pero no es mi favorito en cuanto a gusto musical. Prefiero a Eric Johnson, Jimi Hendrix y a Eddie Van Halen (que junto con Randy Rhodes es un Dios haciendo solos). Pero no puedo negar que Vai es un genio y el punto cumbre en lo que a técnica se refiere, solo que es demasiado excentrico (musicalmente) para mi en algunas piezas, aunque Warm Regards, Boston Rain Melody, Christmas Time Is Here o Tender Surrender son auténticas joyas.

The Jem being used here was only made for two years and in limited numbers. The model years 02 and 03. The 02 has the older Lo Pro bridge and the 03 has the newer Lo Pro. There were very limited in production and I am lucky enough to have one. As far as I know, they are the only secondary Jem, with the same specs as the white Jem. Normally the secondary Jem has different wood and pick-ups. The Sparkle Blue was an alder body with Evolution pick-ups.

you dont even need to bum him beyond belief. the has a monkey grip and most likely evoloutions so its pretty much a jem. its rg shape just like the jem. neck looks thinner but the jem has had so many different necks in the last 20 years. overall amaizing guitar. vai put together a super rg guitar capable of almost anything except that of the manson mb-1 but the mb1 plays like an imbred

its not custom, i cant remember the name off the top of my head. but if u watch vai's dvd visual theories in the bonus features vai gives away an exact model of this guitar to some guy in his tech. its a very rare vai model to come by, not many people sell them or atleast not any major dealers
