  • fantasia beats diamante guard ANY day... our last coach that was recently let go is on fantasia.. he was the best coach ever. a top of the line coach others would call him. and our new coach is on diamante. i had never heard of that guard until our new coach. and comparing the two guards... fantasia will always be the best(:

  • I am an original member of the Guard at RCC before they were called Fantasia. Some of you need to learn your guard history before making comments about the lack of flags. The purpose was to "guard" the colors, meaning the American flag. So using only weapons is actually more true than having flags in the ensemble. Fantasia isn't the first guard in WGI to do this. The San Jose Raiders did an all weapons show to Carmen back in the 90's. They also won the Gold.

  • No other guard moves like Fantasia, they have always had the best movement in my opinion. Take the props out of their hands and they still look like a world-class dance ensemble.

  • This show is amazing. I would love to see you guys live, but I do have you guys on DVD. :D

  • fantasia is just amazing!

  • thts a good comment

  • does anyone know what song this is?

  • its called "fantasy variations on a theme of youth"

the composer is something like howard hanson (:

  • ....The only thing I am capable of doing is shaking my head in awe....

  • My favorite part's most definitely the flag feature

  • my instructor Jesus is in it =)

  • I performed at the 2008 WGI World Championships, i remember watching these, and they won with a score of 99.5!!! It was amazing. Being from England and going to America and watching a performance like this was spell bounding, i have never seen a show which just spun weapon!

  • i love the show. its just so graceful.

  • im not saying that the performance isn't anything short of just the perfect winter guard show, i just thought you HAD to use flags, i didnt know it was optional.

And im s definte fan of Fantasia shows and this had just add to the list.

  • You just have to have so much time using leagla equipment, meaning Flag, Rifle or Saber.

  • the first time i saw this show i was left mesmerized. from the rocking forward with one man standing on the table to him patiently walking over to sit down.i didn't even notice there weren't any flags. I was more fixed on how well Fantasia executed every part of their show. the beauty isn't only seen or heard from the sound of one ensemble catch or ensemble air of a flag.

to only focus on that takes away the story attempting to be portrayed. a masterpiece like this speaks for itself.

  • Cheating!? NEED flags!? Good lord! This show is a masterpiece! I've seen it five times in person! xD They performed at several at our competitions. <3 Granted, when people think colorguard the first thing on their minds is,"Oh, the flag twirlers". However, I don't think anyone has a right to judge this show's lack of color or varied equipment when everything's just so... perfect. O_o I asked one of their members; we're talking all-day weekend practices. Amazing. That's dedication.

  • 4:44 I def. love it when you drop and your rifle bounce back up into your hands. Happened to me at Ridgeview High School(NOrtheast independent's home gym) I was at their auditions/clinic just for the experience of their auditions and dropped a 5 on my rifle once and it bounced back up to me. Gotta love their rubber gym floor hehe. Gotta love Jill and Robby.

  • i meant 2 say has no choice but to go up.

  • i havent watched the show yet, but not using flags i thought was like cheating. that means that there ensemble score has no choice but to go open because the judges have less to go by, but don't get me wrong its awesome and deep, but 2007 and 2005 were my FAVORITE shows from fantasia!, congrats on 1st

  • See I kind of disafgree. It just shows their talent and difficulty. They deserved the gold medal at WGI. I was there and was in awe of the performance.

  • hm...idk,love their show, especially their tricks, but then it wouldnt be color guard...flags contain most of the colors and if flags were put on the music would go great with it too. im not saying its bad, i personally love their show, but i just think it should have flags

  • i agree.. it needs color... but regardless Fantasia is amazing and is my ultimate favorite guard!

  • I agree too! Colorguard needs flags... they tie everything together. Weapons are amazing but w/o flags, this performance was lackluster compared to a lot of their previous shows. It was still awesome... but... they've done better.

  • Not to try to sound rude. But if you've seen better? Why was their score almost perfect?

  • Their score is always almost perfect.. haha... I was just saying that I didn't think that THIS show was as good as their other shows.

  • An all weapon production pushes any guard over the TOP~

  • I saw them perform three days ago and it's even more amazing than ever!

  • GO LARRY, MANNY AND JOEY!

    Montclair Ca <3's you!

    Those are MY instructors!

    Be jealous ^-^

  • I love this show. The fact that they have the ability to perform an all-weapon show and make it their own is beyond amazing. Fantasia is a very strong unit.

  • Does anyone know the name of the music? Sounds like some modern piano concerto.

  • yeah, the other world guards shouldnt even bother showing up to Dayton

  • I was there and saw them perform. The video does not do justice if u see them live. They were great. After the performance, I was disappointed to see of the performers negative attitude when approached by other members admiring their work.

  • Damn, that was pretty good, cant wait to see them in person. I really Liked last years show Flurry, and this one is great too. Seems like they are on a god streak lately.

  • No, its pretty epic

  • I don't think its the first time that a guard does an all weapon show. In 2004 Northern Lights did all weapon until they decided to add a little bit of flag, but there was still no flag feature. But this show is still rather amazing.

  • 1993 San Jose Raiders won WGI "Bolero" with 30 sabers(and only sabers).

  • I don' think this is first time an all weapon show has been done. In 2004 Northern Lights did all weapon until they decided to add a little bit of flag, but there was still no flag feature. But this show is still rather amazing.

  • I haven't seen Northern Lights' 2004 show but I want to. Youtube doesn't have many winterguard videos. But this show is pretty extreme. I've seen it four times (live) but always from the back. I like how it has no definite meaning and is open to interpretation.

  • someone needs to post up james logan's 08 show I'm dying to see it!!

  • James Logan is not coming out this year... They're in China for the Olympics...

  • James Logan is not coming out this year... They're in China for the Olympics...

  • I think they are coming to the San Bernadino West Power Regional. At least that's what I've heard and what the WGI website says.

  • Yea I know they aren't going to dayton but they are still doing the regionals that are in california. Anyways the 08 show is already up on here.

  • This was GREAT the first time i watched it i had to watch it AGAIN to believe that they didn't use flags but that doesn't even matter that was a GREAT show!
