The triumphs are decent rods for the money. They don't have the same kind of quality as a higher end st. croix but for only 70 dollars or so its a good rod.

umm if the piece of metal you are talking about is the hook, then yes it is real lol....yeah its not really good to put a reel underwater, the sediments and stuff in the water can settle inside your reel and seize it up if you don't clean it often
