The tensing in the end is like getting hit by a pole sticking straight at the ground. Tensing at the end of the movement builds a crazy hardness... and speed isn't sacrificed
That's what the f#*% I am talking about! I don't know what lineage of baji that is... but at least he practices with proper expression! This guy rocks!
There are some poor practitioners that practice whilst hopping around like american boxing?! ... When you see people mixing or watering down their martial art with american boxing ... two things ... they don't understand their martial art, can't use it ... or don't know the applications.
@SysAdmin86851 not sure what you mean by "hopping" but in all tma they all have a open and closed stance. open have a deep stance. closed have a high stance and obviously the higher stance have more mobility. i agree. people who dont know the art does not have the rights to mix and match with different styles but if you're a true practitioner*people who can apply the forms in combat* it doesn't hurt to add in some different footwork. am i right?
Why does An Jian keep curling his fingers in a fist? Like I figure maybe it's to keep his fists tight and limber, but is there a specific reason he's doing it?
@CameronNightingale I think that would be an exercise for short range explosive punch that is not aimed for long range or knocking back, he would hit just in touch range so the joints are not stressed.
I believe this is what Rex Kwon Do is based on, hence its effectiveness.

Why are his wrists bent at the beginning when he's throwing his punches? Seems like a recipe for breaking his wrists.
