Thanks for putting this up. Really nice video. Having also been annoyed at the wipe of Lex's memories, I have come to a new conclusion.
Lex didn't actually lose his memories. Perhaps something in Lex's unique biological make-up, with his high white blood cell count, actually fought off the neurotoxin. His memories did flash before him, whilst he was fighting the neurotoxin, but ultimatly they were not destroyed. He doesn't say anything to the contrary, so this is plausible.
@MichaelMJG91 Good point! Although I think he probably DID lose a great bulk of his memories, I agree with you that his biological makeup might fight it. Not to mention his genius level intellect and resources. I mean this is the same man who tore his mind apart trying to uncover 7 WEEKS of memories he lost. Imagine losing his whole life, and piecing it together, and not knowing WHY he hates Superman but feeling these subconscious emotions! THAT is what they were going for with the wipe, IMO.
I cant accept Lex losing his memories happily. Smallville showed Lex Luthor's path to darkness - think of everything that occurred. The relationships, with Clark, Lionel, and Lana - deep and complex ties that affected him immensley. The significant moments that pushed him that bit closer to the man he would become, such as the dream of Lana, losing her, his time in Bel Reeve, and so much more. Wiping everything away makes all that irellevent to who he is after.
So whatever they went for, whatever interpretation, my own interpretation has to be that Lex fought off the neurotoxin and retained everything. If that was not the case, the path to darkness we watched on screen, was not really Lex's final path to darkness. I cannot accept that - only by retaining his memories and legacy does Lex Luthor remain the man forged from his 'battles', and journey, put forward in Smallville.
@MichaelMJG91 I think we're both in agreement about how important those memories are to who Lex is. That's why I'm saying he probably did everything in his power to get those memories back post-memory wipe, all the while being driven by subconscious, repressed memories (i.e. his hatred for Superman stemming from his repressed memories of Clark). 7 years later, he's president, so it seems he has regained most of the pivotal memories or will regain them. But I do wish they explained it better.

This is such a poignant and touching video. It really conveys just how tragic a character Lex Luthor is. It almost seems merciful what Tess did, washing away the memories of such a downfall. Great editing, it really moved me!

@TheNeverworld I have to disagree a little. Lex was doomed from the beginning as far as lining up the Superman version of Lex. Everything Lex knew was linked to Clark if you think about it. All of Lex's projects and people were dosed with Clark. If Clark was just erased Lex would still be obsessed as to why this guy(Clark) was in so much of his life. This would cause him to investigate Clark again until he found out his secret. If he did he would easily kill everyone Clark knew(ONYX EPI.)
Such an amazing video. I would love to see a version where everything is going backwards chronologically, back toward the moment he met Clark, to the beginning. :) Also going into my favorites. I love your videos.

I hadn't realize how sad it is that Lex forgot everything until I watched your video. But in a sense, the Lex we knew and loved is dead, so I guess the fact he lost his memories is the final act of the tradedy that was his life. Well, that's my opinion.

He was the original Lex Luthor, he was just severely injured (from the Fortress falling on him, not the truck explosion IMO) & he was insanely brilliant enough to plan in advance in the event of such an injury to have various clones to help heal him. Think of it as an organ transplant: if someone has an organ replaced with someone else's, does that make them a different person? No, it's just a physical body part being replaced, that's all. :)

I don't think it made sense for them to erase his memory. I mean his ENTIRE memory of his time in Smallville and his relationship with Clark. Removing the part of finding out about Clark's secret, ok fine with that. But everything else?! grr.. and it makes absolutely no sense for him to become the villain that he is if they erase all that's happened to him on the series. I was really happy with the finale until they pulled that crap and it just.. I can't even rewatch the epi. *watches video*

Lex Luthor is dead. That thing in the finale is called "Lex" or clone Lex lol I will not call it Lex. NEVER lol anyway, now that this rant is over I can move onto the video. Just a warning: I'm not sure my comment will be quite the same as usual. I'm in kind of a bad place. My dad had a heart attack & things aren't looking good right now. OMFG!!! I think I just died. I can't stop crying! I HATE the writers with a burning passion! My reason for getting angry at the mind wipe is simply because it was like not only did they kill our Lex AND have a clone walk around looking like him but on top of it it seemed like they ERASED him all together! WTF?! I still will NOT refer to that thing as Lex EVER. It's not Lex. A clone is not the same person! It's a copy. It's a phony imitation! Your soul is what makes you who you are, which means

@crazyashgm86 But Lex in the finale was not a clone. He was the original Lex Luthor, he was just severely injured (from the Fortress falling on him, not the truck explosion IMO) & he was insanely brilliant enough to plan in advance in the event of such an injury to have various clones to help heal him. Think of it as an organ transplant: if someone has an organ replaced with someone else's, does that make them a different person? No, it's just a physical body part being replaced, that's all. :)

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I HAVE CHILLS AND I AM CRYING. This is just SO beautiful. I have no words...the Clana and Clex and Lexmas...oh my god, all the LEXMAS. Only 45% satisfied? Try a MILLION PERCENT. So sad and perfect. the "I would have died, I would have spent my life with you..." BWHAHAHAHA! :( and then the end showing him with Clark, Jonathon, Lana, Martha. I don't think it made sense for them to erase his memory. I mean his ENTIRE memory of his time in Smallville and his relationship with Clark. Removing the part of finding out about Clark's secret, ok fine with that. But everything else?! grr.. and it makes absolutely no sense for him to become the villain that he is if they erase all that's happened to him on the series. I was really happy with the finale until they pulled that crap and it just.. I can't even rewatch the epi. *watches video*

I can't stop watching this, and considering i don't even watch the show, that must show how friggin' awesome your editing is. Making something i don't have an interest in look so beautiful and captivating, true talent bro.
Everything is just so flowy and flawless. and the coloring. And the song. asfakfsj.
If anybody dislikes this i will kick them to China.
