Corsair 800D - Airflow / Air Cooling

i highly recommend removing the RAM fans to provide better airflow for the CPU cooler. the RAMs will get cooled from the airflow flowing into the CPU cooler fan instead. trust me. you'll get better temps that way.

I'm getting this case soon and was going to get the H100 but I think I might just go for a really good cpu heatsink, maybe Thermal Take Frio. I purchased two cougar 120mm fans that I was going to put with the H100 rad....I'm thinking 3 cougar fans at the top of the 800D with a nice CPU heatsink. Any thoughts? I would love to water cool but 1. I don't have the skills to set that up on my own and 2. it's pricey and I'm only going to be running 1 vid card w/ a 850w psu, i7 and HyperX 16 gb.

There is no intake on the front of the case right? Im thinking about getting this case and a H100 to cool my cpu. Might get either a 6970 or 7950 if I have enough money. Do you think I'd be fine cooling wise?

Ive got an 800D on air as well, and I too was a little surprised at the temps I got. I was expecting much worse. To answer some questions, the 140 In the bottom is just sitting there, its the perfect size to for between the air filter rails, its almost like the case was made to have a fan there. And yes you can use an H100 with the airflow fan.

Guys, need your help on CPU cooler and RAM Cooler. CPU is i5 2500K and RAM is G.Skill Ripjaws Series X specifically for P67 Mobo. Oh and need your advice on what fans to buy. Going to replace all stock fans. Thanks. OP, maybe u can provide some insight since u got air cooling going.

Thanks for the review OP. Keep Air Cooling. U don't need water-cooling. Just get H70 for cpu and that's it. I will stick with air cooling but thinking of getting this case simply because of the cable management. I got CM AMD Edition Red Case. It's good but cable management there sucks even though i tried my best to minimize it. Anyway with so many fans, this is better in the long run and safe. Water cooling may break, and there goes your system.

nice build. I too have a 800d with airflow and i think its just great. looks nice, and stays cool all the time. I do have a question though. The bottom fan. How did you get it in there? I tried to line mine up and it just wouldn't fit. Did you use rubber screws? Please let me know. Thanks.

Wow I am getting this motherboard next week and I am going to install AMD 1090t BE, DDR3 PC 2000 16gig, 120 SSD for boot up, 1TB WD for storage, 2 GTX 580 Asus DirectCU II video card sli config, Cooler Master HAF 932 and Thermaltake FRIO cpu coller.6 cores and SLI nvidia WoW and about this motherboard doing poorly on sli? dude read the manual 'this motherboard has a nForce 200 chip like the ones you find on intel boards' so I disagree with you on that, do your research this board ROCKS!!!!!

btw i got sli working on that board now for some reason it wont register a perfectly good working gpu so im running a xfx black edition with a superclock evga just to let you know these boards do kind of work with sli but really poorly!
