  • This is my shit right here. I love Digable Planets! I use to bump their music all the time back in the day. I need to go back buy all their CD's and bump 'em again so these young cats can hear and experience true hip hop/rap music.

  • Good times good times

  • this was before female rappers started exclusively spitting about how their kitty can speak chinese and feel the need to wear stripper outfit in their videos just to move units or be taken seriously....

female rappers where kinda dope back then .....but then again even the dudes where ill withit too without having to be gangster all the time

  • Every weekend : YO MTV RAPS back then... I was always runnin to home to check the newest Clips/ Crews....

  • @EFIL4A99INN RIP to those days, i was so young back then that I didnt even know about hip hop =(

  • i love both versions of this song the fact that this version wasn't on the album made it sweeter. this method of remix was used to sell singles even to those who already had the album.

  • this is better than modern rap you can even say its not

  • Eita, tempo bom que não volta nunca mais!

  • By far one of tha most amazing crews ever formed.. far beyond and still beyond are time.. space and places..

  • i remembered this version in Rap City back in April '93 Saturday weekend before Easter Spring Recess GOOD OLD DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The influence this band had on commercial rap nowadays is obvious, soulja boys spitting this kind of wisdom on every track if you listen real hard.

  • @Wordisbonds Who's soulja boy?

  • Digable Planets were The Beatles of Hip Hop.

  • i remeber these guys haha!!

    thanks for sending me this

  • @XxBRODEOxX , True they were amazing. I was pretty surprised watching MTV one day in the late 1990's where they called Digable a "one-hit wonder", and their failure in the industry came from the Blowout Comb Album being "too black" ....

  • one of the BEST hip-hop group and some of the best hip-hop music EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @apartment906 YES!!!!

I was 13 years old back then...

  • @apartment906 You're not lying...

  • @apartment906 And that's when the album version is dope as fuck!

  • @apartment906 nahhh, this version is the grimey version, album is the "happy" track, both are sick. I think this version fits the feel of the video better

  • @khordkutta Very true...I've always felt the exact way...this is one of my favorite songs of all time, but i was very upset when this version was not on the album...

  • laddybug mecca

I used to live in London at that time and listen to them on my walkman every day, bought a cassette for 7 quid in Soho....memories, thank you Lady Bug!!!

  • This is great. Anyone know who did the remix?

Anyways. For all of you complaining about bringing 'REAL' hip hop back.....there is only one solution>>>YOU. You have to BUY this stuff, the dollar speaks louder than the heart in business. So, what I'd do is this. Get off your asses, put a "Bringrealhiphopback" site together, put up samples ( with permission) from these cats, and state at the top of the page. BUY THIS STUFF...so companies will sign an artist that makes them money.

  • yea look up on lime wire

  • anyone got this remix version on MP3?

been looking for this for ages with no success. I've got the album version, but I wasn't cool enough in '93 to own the 12inch single...

  • Yes and i limewired the remix also!

  • It's in their 'greatest hits' album: "Beyond The Spectrum: The Creamy Spy Chronicles"

  • This is my joint right here

  • dam canal street...alley's black & white wit snow come on..where do u find that. Wuv this video!!!

  • Yo, my peoples...real Hip Hop hasn't gone anyplace. The underground is still strong and will remain strong. THAT'S where the real sh*t will continue to flow from. We don't need to boycott what radio plays. Just keep supporting local artists comin with the raw sh*t. BUT...also recognize true talent, even when radio picks it up. Radio play doesn't cancel out real talent. For example: Jay-Z still spits that hot sh*t, even with all the mainstream play, Beyonce and all that.

  • the coolest hiphop group probably ever. their lack of personality, i think, gives them the best personalities in hiphop. seriously, so laid back and cool and still the same today.

  • dawg imagine if tribe called quest, digable planets, and the pharcyde did a song

DAMNNNNNNN that'll be da best record eva..

they my 3 fav rap groups of all time...straight up u cant touch em, especially digable planets.

  • Wow..haven't seen this in years. Knew a DJ in chicago who use to mix this accapela w/the instrumental to Janet Jackson's, That's The Way Love Goes. Crowd would go crazy.

    ...to bad they broke up.

  • digable planets is back together. they performed here in the 805 not too long ago =]

  • The only way to get Hip-hop back to this good place where it used to be, is to boycott the commercial shit played on the airwaves: Imagine the reaction of your so-called "No.1 station for Hip-Hop" when you request a track like this on the request line; they wouldn't know what to do, cause they would of expected you to request Ludacris or someone alike - Or they make up some excuse like: "That track is a bit too deep for this show, right now." You gotta stay up till 2.00am for the REAL stuff.
