It's interesting to note the view behind the reporter at 0:30-0:35 looks like the World Financial Center under construction along West Street in lower Manhattan (as it would have been in the early-mid 80's), which means that the shot was probably being recorded across the street somewhere at the World Trade Center.

I always thought that guy at 0.34 looked like a cross between clint eastwood and jim dial from murphy brown. I think he retired from cnn.
