  • If Disney tries to put this one in 3D I'm tinting my glasses blue.

  • James Cameron don't you have any originality of your own. Will your Avatar sequels be rip-offs of other stories as well.

  • My god this is so well DONE!

  • You know? Before "Pocahontas" we had "Dances with wolves", "Ferngully" and "The last of the mohicans". And after, we had "The last samurai" and "The new world". All of them are historical, and in all of them, historically, the invaders destroy the natives. But nobody compared that movies, neither critisiced them for plagiarism.

Why do people do that with a different, sci-fi-disability film like Avatar?

  • @Havezethario Because Pocahontas is a Romeo and Juliet story, and Avatar is Pocahontas Recycled in Space. Literally.

New World is a literal live-action remake of Pocahontas, just as Prince of Egypt is an animated remake of Ten Commandments.

  • LOL The colours of the wind turn you into an avatar.

  • this is amazing

  • Cameron had the idea for Avatar in 1988 when he wrote his plot and ideas on paper he had saved since then, he wrote the script in 1993 then he announced in 1996 he will make the movie after Titanic is released for a 99 release. He decided to put the script in a drawer and had to wait for the technology to satisfy his vision and waited a decade until 2005 when he greenlight the film after being blown by Lord of the Rings on technology

  • this is not ur video. please remove this or i will report you and hav u removed from youtube

  • dude awsome, the villain so looks like he's really saying all the lines

  • Shit! I never thought you could turn a cartoon like this into such an epic trailer. XD

  • 3D+Pocahontas+Surrogates+Battle for Tera=Avatar

  • @terumun

Don't forget Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa, Castle in The Sky and My Neighbor Totoro are added in there since Cameron is a fan of Ghibli

  • wonderful video, enjoyed watching it

  • brilliant

  • YOU THIEF! You stole this from Neravairathethird! D: Take this down man!

  • You stole this from neravairathethird

  • Avatar sucked...it was nothing but a pretty face. Very unoriginal story. It's been done before in Pocahontas, The last samurai, and many others im sure.

  • @thangQanime

Cameron had the idea for Avatar in 1988 as he had the plot and ideas on a piece of paper since and wrote his 80 page screenplay in 1993 before Last Samurai and Pocahontas, he announced in 1995 he will make the film for a 1999 release date but he decided he felt the technology couldn't do it justice so he had to put the script in a drawer waiting a decade for technology to satisfy his vision then in 2005 he greenlighted it. Do you think he should have changed the story?

  • you STOLE this from neravairathethird >:O

  • Take it down and apoligise.

  • Take this video down, thief.

  • thief you stole this!!!!

  • Hey, you stole this from Neravaira! You should give her credit her in the description! This is an unfair lie! You need to delete this video, now that the real one is up on Neravaira's channel.

  • This is not your video, either give the original creator, Neravaira, credit or takes hit off, we can all easily flag this video and get it taken off that way, but we'd rather it not come to that. So either give her credit or get rid of this yourself.

    ~Shakko

  • This isn't yours, you goddamn thief >:(

  • neravaira made this you thief >:(

  • Just chiming in with everyone else to say stealing someone else's work is not cool, dude. Give credit where credit is due.

  • Everyone, this video was originally made by an AMV maker named Neravaira, now going under the username neravairathethird. Her old account was suspended a while back, and afterwards this person uploaded the video and claimed it as their own.

Please take this copy of the video down, or at least credit it to Neravaira.

  • i cant believe u took someone else's work and called it our own! Neravairathethird is the rightful owner of this amazing video! you should at least give her credit. if not u better take this down. I remember when she first uploaded this video, so dont you dare call it ur own. u better take this down or give her credit!

  • Holy f**k. You completely stole this from me. You thought just because my previous account got suspended that I wouldn't eventually notice?

  • I am too distracted by John Smith's sexy self to know whats going on.

  • i love haters

  • Hilarious! And very well done. I had concluded the same thing. A pretty lame rehash of Disney's "Pocahontas". Shades of "Dances With Wolves" too. Hard to believe this was the best Cameron could come with after taking so long.

  • @Pacisdiligo Hi, I'm the actual maker of the video, my previous account was suspended a while back and I've only recently returned which is why it took me so long to notice that someone's reuploaded it without saying that it's not theirs. Here is the video in its original, higher-quality form:

    w w w .youtube. com /watch?v=TgZvGZ-aHA4

  • @neravairathethird Thanks for the heads up. I will check it out. Kudos on some fine work!

  • @Pacisdiligo

Cameron had the idea for Avatar since 1988 on paper including the plot and wrote the script in 1993, we wanted to film it after titanic and decided to wait a decade for technology to do it justice. He wrote Avatar BEFORE Pocahontas.

People don't bother to check nowadays on their research.

  • @Johnlindsey289: The fact remains that Disney's Pocahontas was released in 1995 and Avatar in 2009. The most logical and reasonable conclusion is that Cameron was the one being influenced. You allege that Cameron wrote the script for Avatar in 1993. Do you have any proof of this? Is there any documentation that a person can view to substantiate the claim? If not, then the criticism of Cameron stands.

  • @Pacisdiligo

Look at Wiki and it will tell you that Cameron wrote Avatar in 93/94 and tell you the history of Avatar as it's evidence.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Scripts constantly alter, what was written then would have changed drastically since. Plus he would have had novels and history books related to the subject to help inspire him. It is also a futuristic Romeo & Juliet tale, two families, two lovers from opposing sides, forbidden love, war between sides and a solution.

  • @Johnlindsey289 ferngully was made in 1992, its exactly like avatar

  • 12 years to write a script that was already wrote?

  • @SgtWeenieArms

    Nope, Avatar was in 1993.

  • Hahahaha so F****ing True Avatar is just Pocahontas but all futuristic

  • WOW amazing U need to do one of these with halo reach on the 1st Transformers trailer If u can do this then that should b nothing short of a masterpiece!:) nice vid please keep em comin

  • whoever did this is pretty good. Very well done!!!!!!

  • The depressing thing is I've never actually seen Pocahontas.

  • Avatar fail.

  • Ou Yeah sir! :))))) awesome work

  • When i saw Avatar at first time i think it same Pocahontas!!!

  • AMAZING!!!! Best one yet!!!

  • Disney needs to sue......OMG

  • @rkohle4

No, Pocahontas is an actual story that happened. Cameron had the idea since 1988 didn't you know that and wrote his script in 1993? People are too lazy nowadays to do their research

  • Alitar was better :P

  • it so true!

  • Avatar = the Blue Pocahontas.

No wonder it cannot win the best picture...

  • Avatahontas!!!

  • @ACIDFEB yes!!

  • @ACIDFEB Pocatar!!!

  • @ACIDFEB more like pochatar :D

  • I think Ferngully was a little closer to Avatar than pocahontas. Watch it, it's crazy how much they're alike.

  • @nicktheofficeninja

Except Avatar is for adults. Avatar also had elements of Princess Mononoke, Heavy Metal, Fantastic Planet (1973 cult French/Czech adult animated Sci-fi fantasy movie), Dune, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Willow, Last of the Mohicans, My neighbor Totoro and Castle in The Sky (aka Laputa). Seen those movies?

  • @Johnlindsey289 I've seen all of those but the fundamental story arch is mostly taken from Ferngully. There's a bit of stretch in some of those.I definitely see the Princess Mononoke influence (though PM was WAY better) as well as the Fantastic Planet influence. Nausicaa I can see a little connection Willow Totoro and Laputa seem a bit of a stretch but it's been a while since I've seen those movies. Really what I think a lot of people are pissed about is that Cameron acts like his movie is...

  • @Johnlindsey289 ... so original.

  • james cameron is such a good writer

  • you're shitting me right?

  • OMG the words look like they were made for what the people were saying. PERFECT!

  • AMEN! This could not be more accurate.

  • Now I feel like watching Pocahontas.

  • This is perfect

  • Wonderfully done!!

  • Absolutely spot on. Brilliant!

  • LOL,

  • perfect! you nailed it.

  • great editing !

  • brilliant

  • Este ficou muito melhor melhor que o viídeo do avatar com o audio da pocahontas!
