it is not hard to get onto the computer. you just need a firewire cable and a firewire port on your computer. it is not hd, but it is superb quality for SD. just be sure to keep your lens super clean, and keep a uv filter on it to protect the lens.
I've heard B & H Photo Video online store has some good deals, I just got one in England (called xm2 here) on Cameras2u website. Search them in google to find the url's as I don't want to send you barking up the wrong tree! P.S Pricerunner is a good way to find the cheapest vendor and compare to others, all 1st hand...
