There's a silicon couple to the rear wheels that uses reverse viscosity to power them. If the front and back are travelling the same speed, no power goes to the back. If the fronts are spinning, friction between the silicone and the plates in the coupler locks up the rear driveshaft.

@Toyotoys They will do so automatically when they detect slipping. You have no control over it at all.
