  • I thought the Warm Springs Local only runs on Wednesdays.

  • @sjrailfan35: This video was posted 3 years ago. Lot of things have changed since then. You might want to take time to read some old posts on headsupnorcal, it's documented there.

  • @cchan006 I believed the changes happened because of that NUMMI Plant closure in Fremont.

  • The engineer is probably quilling the horn so he or she doesn't make anyone go deaf,Amtrak's do it too.

  • what kinda horn is that

    i find it attractive

  • @BUICK925: That Donkey horn? Sounds like Leslie S-3L.

  • @cchan006

you cant go wrong with a donkey.

    =P

  • sounds like the horns on the trains that run through mty town lol

  • @Barricade360

    were are you from?

i am from vacacaville ca. and dont have much train acsess

  • @BUICK925 i am from milton-freewater oregon pretty small town not much rail traffic watco runs their trains throught here.

  • @Barricade360

    let me guess

    CORP runs through?

    or up?

  • @BUICK925 watco is a leasing company, and id say maybe like twice a month at the most when i do see trains

  • @Barricade360

    interesting

  • I was a switchman in Oakland in the 60's There was a job/crew called the "Zipper".

We worked West Oakland and the Homestead Yard and the Desert Yard also. We would take cars from the homestead yard to the east Oakland yard and back again. to the desert yard. We went through Jack London both ways. Weekends were the worse. People partying and drunk would stand in front of the engine or run across at the last minute. It was scary because nobody wanted to see somebody get hurt..

  • Bad roller bearing at 1:37?

What is that red car at 4:35?

    Thank you for your videos.

Also thanks for the information. Much appreciated.

  • Could be bad roller bearings, sticking brakes, or flat spots on a wheel. As for the red car, that looks like a brand new coil car. It carries coiled rolls of steel.

  • @robertgift the red car is a cole car at 435

  • its a sick leslie RS-3L

  • The first train's horn does soun like a donkey and a sea lion. haha, thats funny!

  • wow that horn sounded a car alarm!!!!!!!!

  • That Auto rack train looked abit too long to be a local.

  • SP ran locals in excess of 100 cars in central california. depends on what the railroad classifys them as. not there length.

  • Ever seen any SPSF kodachrome units in Oakville, CA?

  • nope. never been there

  • @Nathanrailfan I've seen the one in Portola. She's a Beauty

  • BNSF in Jack London Square?! Hray!!!! That means 4449 can come and visit the Bay Area. In your face Union Pacific, its all about the BNSF, the Southern Pacific and the 4449!!!!

  • Every time I go trainspotting in Tehachapi and Cajon, I'm astounded not to get shot by UP policemen. UP hates us.

  • I don't think the UP police would shot you for train spotting.

Maybe if you were violating stafety rules, they would probably just arrest you.

  • Horn sounds horrible lol!

  • lol @ the car alarm

  • Hey can you tell me the symbol of the UP local?

  • I think it's YOA82, but you might want to double check.

  • Sounds like an out of shape RS3L.

  • that it is and even being out of shape it still sounds better than some of the K horn crap out there today!

  • haha! i love it how the car alarms go off!

  • hahah yah some go off real easy. My friends truck goes off every time my other friend drives by it with his car that has the Fart Can! (Cherry Bomb exhaust..lol)

  • haha thats awesome!

  • me too

  • Does BNSF run in San Jose as well, cause i'm just jealous?

  • BNSF doesn't have trackage rights to San Jose so the short answer is no. There have been BNSF power used on UP trains through San Jose on rare occasions, however.

  • oh,ok. where else does bnsf run?

  • BNSF runs north from Oakland to Richmond (Stege) on UP. They usually run on their own tracks from Richmond to Stockton, then down to Bakersfield.

  • I am aware that the NUMMI plant is located in the Warm Springs area of Fremont. It is where the Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Tacoma, and Toyota Corolla are manufactured!!

  • This looks so much better than LaGrange, Ky streetrunning! I'm very impressed.LOL

  • Nice one! I like the train going backwards! 5/5! Check out my UP freight at JLS video! I caught a train similar to the one u got!

  • I saw it! The job you saw ran in the morning, so it could be the switch job between West and East yards, since GP15-1 was used. It could also be the more rare San Leandro Job that runs occasionally in the morning.

  • Awesome Video!! Nothing like street running!!

  • awesome video! the BNSF lashup was great and that horn was just AWESOME! 5 star video

  • set those car alarms off lol
