Or I can do what I am currently doing which is making use of pre-existing websites. There is a book in the works but I am pretty sure that I wont be able to publish it in Bono's lifetime. He is aware that I am writing the book.
Im not a guy. It does sound better with them recording it, I agree there. Is it silly of me to take pride in my work even though the memory of the rip-off still wounds? We had been friends since the 1970's so it hurt like a bitch when they did what they did. One member of the band persuaded the rest of the band not to pay me and no, it was not the lead singer.
@redbarron718 I recently had to have it explained to me what a troll was. I am telling the truth. As I understand it, trolls post malicious comments for attention. I am posting factual comments so the truth gets out. They have had all this time to do the right thing.
@dublinbarterclub Thats a hater. A troll is someone who says something to make them sound like a person they are not. it seems way to convenient that your the person the "ripped off" and are just some one on youtube. its just to unbelievable.
@redbarron718 I can reach more people with what happened this way. I am telling the truth but you are entirely entitled to not believe me as much as I am entitled to say it.;)
@TheMySideproject Have you any idea how hard it is to get the irish media to print a story without the sort of proof they need? I can understand their point of view. There was another person involved in all this who took a payment of 2,ooo pounds to agree not to testify against the band. It took her a long time to admit this. If she were to agree to talk to the media, then it would be a done deal.
@TheMySideproject Basically what happened is this.I met the band in a bar in Cork while in the comp[any of one Linda Murphy. Before the night was out and with a bit of drink in me, I suggested to the band that we do some songwriting. They found this amusing to say the least but humoured me and we spent 6 hours writing non-stop. At some point in the evening I saw one of the band pass Linda a piece of paper and i asked her what it was. She tried to tell me it was Adam's autograph
@TheMySideproject It turned out that Adam detested Linda but he didnt want any 'loose ends' left around. He was the one who persuaded the rest of the band not to pay me. Linda denied for a long time that she had taken any money then in 1993 she admitted it. She only admitted it because her boyfriend Aidan was a decent soul who had heard of what had happened and put pressure on her to admit it to me.
@TheMySideproject I would love to have Linda admit this in the media but she never will. It took her forever to admit it to me and she wasnt sorry, she merely said she needed the money and that was that. I got betrayed by the band and Linda in one night. Wow. it certainly changed my view of her and them and made me understand that money makes monsters of people.
Thank you U2....for amazing memories with your lyrics and music. THANK YOU. U2 is the only band that made me feel a spiritual "tingle" without drugs or religion thus far. HS & College daze would not have been the same without the fab four of the '80s & '90s! We need more real artists in this miserable landscape of shit music in the new millennium already.....
@basehead617 U2 actually co-wrote this song with an unknown author, so in your opinion two people underwrote this song. I find that hilarious. I am not disssing you in any way for your opinion, it is just funny to me.
@dublinbarterclub You can't be... You're the guy they ripped of in the bar back in '89? Wow! that's awesome, I mean, not for you because you didn't get any money from them ripping you off. But at least your music is out there and probably sounds better than if you were to record it...
@TheMySideproject I got out of the music business for a long time after that but now i am back. Im busy copyrighting everything I write and taking singing lessons. Who knows what the future brings, but I reckon good days are coming.
U2 was known as a band that would sing rebel songs ("I can't believe the news today", "How long must we sing this song"...) but one day, they decide to do something most people hate doing, it is called INTROSPECTION. Achtung Baby is the result of such act, they identified that relationships, emotions and perceptions between human beings are what really matter in this world. Since then, they no longer rebel, since then just try to offer a deeper point of perspective through their lyrics and songs
WOW, ONLY ONE DOES NOT LIKE. I know Y, I only like the song, I hate this world. Women are so beautiful YES> We have to accept the double edged sword, Be The best you can to your girl. God's gift to man.
@asusundevils1971 Wow...yeah i guess....if you're from that era or The Beatles do it for you like that. Personally, in my youth Achtung Baby,The Black Album,Nevermind,Ten,Rage Against The Machine self titled album,A Picture of Nectar and Automatic for the People, sufficed quite well. Hey guys.. Zooropa wasnt all that bad. It produced Lemon, stay , numb and believe it or not , one of my top 5 U2 songs of all time, Zooropa. That song is amazing. It is often overlooked because the song may sound deceiving at first. But when it picks up in the second half, It sounds like a song taken from the achtung baby sessions. Amazing song, melody and lyrics. you guys should check it out . peace
The moment I heard U2s cover of "Night n Day" for an AIDS benefit CD in 89-90, immediately knew there was some weird tecnho sh%$ comin down the pike from these guys... friggin loved it!!! :D
@chomcia5000begrudl Yeah, I have seen more than once in Bono's lyrics that he seems to give woman all the credit for smart, beauty, etc. I think he has a tremendouse respect for woman, and he simply just loves the female species. Wish more men were like minded and we woman would sure be a lot happier!
@chomcia5000begrudl Yes, and I have been known to adopt that line on occasions! Very perceptive comment about base-filled masterpiece. You are absolutely spot on.

@Rurdidi not everyone hated it, lots of people loved it like you and I. its arguably the most celebrated U2 album. its just the a certain segment of their fan base didn't like it cause they're silly ; )
god i love U2... remember this album... when i formed a duo/garage band we were both HUGE U2 fans... i did "where the streets have no name" ... it was awesome...and "still haven't found what i'm looking for" too... ahhh... they just kicks ass... i never could get in2 "Zooropa"... but my bandmate liked it... tons of U2 & Sinead O'Conner blasted that little shed
Yeah, I don't get that. I know it's one of Gloria Steimham's quotes, but it makes no sense in this song (unless it does and I just don't get it, which is possible).

@Rurdidi I don't know who you're talking to, but I love Achtung Baby!

@Rurdidi not everyone hated it, lots of people loved it like you and I. its arguably the most celebrated U2 album. its just the a certain segment of their fan base didn't like it cause they're silly ; )

god i love U2... remember this album... when i formed a duo/garage band we were both HUGE U2 fans... i did "where the streets have no name" ... it was awesome...and "still haven't found what i'm looking for" too... ahhh... they just kicks ass... i never could get in2 "Zooropa"... but my bandmate liked it... tons of U2 & Sinead O'Conner blasted that little shed

best line in a song ever "a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle"

Yeah, I don't get that. I know it's one of Gloria Steimham's quotes, but it makes no sense in this song (unless it does and I just don't get it, which is possible).
Anyone know how that fits in with this song?
