  • Haha killed the Witch >:D

  • Why are there Black people on this show?

  • @AlabamaSoldier Because there were black people in medieval time.

  • @sexymixed13 In Europe? In the King's court?

  • @AlabamaSoldier Yes. I don't know about the King's Court.

  • @sexymixed13 The answers are: practically none and not a chance in hell.

  • @AlabamaSoldier No, its actual fact there were African descent people living in the British Isles and also in Ancient Rome, but you're American I don't expect you to know that.

  • @sexymixed13 And such people were rare even on the level of the peasantry, and were certainly never seen in a lord's court or guard.

But you're offended by your own ignorance, so I don't expect you appreciate that.

  • super...

  • Exotic Enchanting Elevation.

    Tantalizing Tune.

  • Eve has said it herself that she cannot sing.

  • i know that actor who plays da witch, she played the new girl in torch wood!!!! :D

  • I love the ending LMAOO

  • i think the song is just made up-like merlin's 'magic' language- it sort of goes- "Blah khien barrah fweelah, blah khien aiza krum, aloe khio bragam harah eefnell, broe floe mesing lah, breeyoolah naaadryu. Sorin sar akhwah, roe hagroe nonestroe, broilin sar akhwah, mortsin danah bradeh, broilin sar akhwah, noe-… Weeben proe, proe sah yakmah, haryay nakhah: Agah Madah Sadah Hagah!" (wikianswers)
  • @Pappiloncat Merlin's 'magic' language, as you call it, isn't made up. It's old english. Every spell is a direct translation of what it does. For example, 'Forbearnan' is used a lot. It roughly translates as 'to burn up, consume by fire'. Which is exactly what the spell does.

  • @slightlyinsaneFTW and @HiroAkemi82 just for your interest, i did not write that post. i found the answer on wikianswers, as i stated, and thought people would like to see the closest thing i could find to lyrics for this song, preferably without getting my head bitten off in the process. i am sorry if you disagree with what i posted, but can we not just listen to a beautiful piece of music? x

  • @Pappiloncat Because... you know, there isn't a such thing as other languages....

  • Why is everyone talking about whether or not she was the original singer? It's bloody Eve Myles - who plays Gwen Cooper in Torchwood. She's a welsh actress. The person who originally sung this is an English opera singer. I highly doubt Eve suddenly turned English and became a great singer?! Seriously...

  • Brambles I knew she wasn't the original singer, so it begs the question HOW did I know? Most singers know how to lip sinc. to fit not only the words but how a singer can shape them on a particular note. Even if the mimer/lip sinc-er WAS a singer, my guess is that she is not a soprano, as the sounds issung forth were not consistent with the way she was delivering them.

  • AHHA Stupid bitch got crushed in the end :D

  • Amazing how the actual singer (don't know her name/Eve lip syncs the song) has Eve's southern-welsh accent perfect.

  • anyone know what the lyrics are/what language? I'd like 2 know both

  • @slightlyinsaneFTW

    It's not an actual language.

  • collin morgin is so damn adorible <3 ahhga

  • SHE DOESN'T BREATHE. :P

  • bad azz song! lol

  • Holy shit Merlin's ears are HUGE.

  • @TheOn3LeftBehind Maybe thats why he can hear its a trap? XD

  • @Jekkize LMFAO! YES!

  • If the knife was sharp enough to cut though a wooden chair why did she grab it out by the blade?

  • The song is supposed to be about the hurt of a mother who has lost her son." The lyrics are nonsense lovely night has come to us lovely night, soft and dark the lovely night that ends a long and hard, weary day so rest... lay your body down forget your life spiders of the night come, spin your silky webs spiders of the night come, bind them in their sleep now spiders of the night, spin! wrapped in your shroud dead to the world... just like my son: dead, dead, dead, DEAD!
  • @abandonment1 If I remember correctly, her son was killed at the beginning of the episode...so she was trying to "repay the favor."

  • @abandonment1 how exactly would you know what it means??

  • Loh rhiem bala rhui la loh rhiem yaha azaigrar na loh rhuiem regar rola irkno ozlambne tsilian lreohyuu hulaa aalrehyu lrui tsan halrangra aforgradne tsmuo lrui tsan halarkno mosagranaforte lrui tsuo halarkno noh lrui argnar aha zaiyarknar ha lrui arknar tsala tsala tsala tsala
  • I saw a little fail- look at 1:06 , in background you can see a guy who is immune from witch`s charming singing.

  • Merlin was like 'take this! and SHUT THE FUCKKKK UPPPPP ' lol

btw it's a good song after all

  • Enchanting singing, femme fatale and a sorceress just the kind im looking for, hahaha!!! ;)

  • dunno if this will help anyone but this is my take on the lyrics (it's hard working them out) Lochiem baraow weelow Lochiem lizagrowla Lochiem bragowahra reehem Othrame singja breehhhhuuuulllaaaa Bahhagrayhhhhooo sorrion zoragthwa Athra graoomayzoo sorrion zoragthwa Nazagra mothwarday sorrion zoragthwa Naaaaaaa Layhimdown nazayagra layhimdown graaa graaa sorraaaa grraaaa
  • *snickers* Silly Gwen you should be back in Cardiff before another Weevil attack happens!

  • I tried it, but it didn't work out :P

But seriously, I love this song! :D

  • Very Thanks!

    Probably is Gramme low ^_^

  • "Blah khien barrah fweelah,

    blah khien aiza krum,

    aloe khio bragam harah eefnell,

broe floe mesing lah, breeyoolah naaadryu.

Sorin sar akhwah, roe hagroe nonestroe,

broilin sar akhwah, mortsin danah bradeh,

    broilin sar akhwah, noe-…

Weeben proe, proe sah yakmah, haryay nakhah:

Agah Madah Sadah Hagah!" this is what i think the lyrics are dont know the english

  • The words don't make much/to any sense but dang does she have a powerful voice!!!!

  • Lyrics dont need to make sense, because, for example, when they are casting spell they too use some not understantable words so(lets think that they live in other dimension with magic and other great stuff and with different languages too) ... enjoy the music!

  • @tupums15 I think they use old english for the spells maybe the song is in old english too

  • @aryx12

In the DVD comentary for this episode the guys say that they gave the guy who wrote the song a lot of different languages to look at. In the end though the guy decided to just make it all up. The spells themselves are in old english but this song isn't anything.

  • My good! What is this witchcraft? Is a musical horror!! Shame to the writer...

  • i love Eve Myles :D

  • Does anyone know if there are lyrics for this song posted anywhere? She had to have practiced singing,so even if she were singing 'gibberish,' it ought to be found SOMEwhere! No one seems to know just yet; at least none which show up in a Google search.

  • orchestra playing with that witch should be sleeping too :)

  • A very addictive song

  • first episode XD

  • I can keep watching this, I swear.

  • @superrandomnesschick

    Me too :D

  • is this an actual welsh aria? and if so whats it called..does anyone know? and who sings it?

  • @Eathora

no, the words don't have meaning,

they tried several languages but ended up with a no-sense text.

    just emotions.

  • @kamion53 ahh right thanks...still haunting piece to listen to even without the scene!

  • Ohh i figured out why evrybody(including me)is obssesd with merlin!

ITS HER SONG THAT HAS ENCHANTED THE VIEVERS!

WE ARE FOREVER BOUND TO LOVE THE SERIES!

  • Are there words for this??

  • Lifes a witch and then you die ;]

  • Lolve it :D

  • Whoops the bitch I mean witch got smashed by the chandelier! Haha!

  • Us witches know how to enchant! LOL!

  • @lthrlover yes we do !!! =)

  • @Pareleblues: If people were to take movies as truth, then every single culture represented in movies would be destroyed. You're paying too much attention to movies about Britain and not about the world itself. Are movies supposed to be "politically correct"? I don't think so. It's entertainment, child.

Now, getting past the ignorant scream for attention, I believe the singer behind this has a wonderful voice. Seducing, hypnotic, and shrilling yet fluid like ice water.

  • @Parleblues Hehehehe,,,How naive,how pathetic :)

  • Omg I love this so much. I have the first season of Merlin and kept going to audio commentary and kept hearing this song. I learned that I loved it I want it so bad but I don't know how to

  • I'm trying to find other vocal music like this. There is a fairly close one at the end of Richard Strauss's opera Daphne. You can buy the two parts for .99 each at Amazon.com: "Strauss +Daphne +Fleming, the numbers 3 & 4 on Disc 2. I'd sure like to find others.

  • Ha ha ha Gaptooth got owned at the end!

  • I used to know some teachers and professors who could do the same thing to an entire room of people just by speaking. :)

  • I love this song & clip. Merlin is a great show too!

    Blessed Be )O( Caz

  • Does she ever breathe? lol Seriously, though. xD

  • i loved this! thanks for posting it

  • wow she'll put you to sleep and cover your castle with cobwebs!

    Amazing!

no but seriously that was cool

  • does she EVER take a breath???

man that woman can sing! lol

  • when i watch this episode i was like damn, i wish i was that powerful myself like her

  • wow she puts everyone asleep?/now that is power i like this song??

  • if she just didnt fuck around she would of killed him but nope she has to sing her fucking awesome song O-O

  • @starcraft411 maybe she wanted to enjoy the "show" :)

  • @starcraft411 That wouldnt be so enjoyable death :)

  • @starcraft411 well they could hardly kill off the main caracter in the first ep could they?

  • woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

  • i never new eve myles was a opera singer!

  • @withintemptationrock She isn't the singer :) Just the actress.

  • this always gives me shivers

  • where can I get the lyrics from ?

  • you can feel the waves of enchanted song

  • 1:17 - 1:20 face of death!

  • i wish i could sing like that

  • @i1234t1234 its hard lol

  • id imagin so

  • I doubt this actress is singing this aria. Her throat mouth movements are not consistent with singing those notes. As a trained singer myself, I can tell she is NOT the singer.

Whoever sang it has a lovely soprano voice, though.

  • It is sang by Emma Brain-Gabbott!

  • @Jerusha13 whats the song called plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • It's called the Witch's Arai!" As suggested by the title of the video! :)

  • she did sing the song in a recording studio then she acted it and mimed it but she is an opera singer, dancer and an actress cause she is in torchwood and some eps of doctor who

  • @Lillibet12 it's emma brain-gabbott

  • Comment removed

  • @Lillibet12 No, Eve Myles doesn't sing it, she lip syncs it. I can't remember the last name of the singer who sang it so it isnt much help, but I know her name is Emma

  • @Lillibet12

music pieces that are recorded for film are typically no sung live, but in recording studios and then dubbed later to match the actor's mouth movements (whether or not they are the true voice). So you wouldn't see the movements as consistent with the notes.

  • @Lillibet12 The singer is someone named Emily Brian something. I forget her full name though.

  • @Lillibet12 I believe they recorded the song after/before the scene was filmed. So it is even possible that she sang it, although here she was just lipsyncing ;)

  • @Lillibet12 I believe they recorded the song after/before the scene was filmed. So it is even possible that she sang it, although here she was just lipsyncing

  • yeah, i can't find the lyrics too!!!:(((

  • Killer Song!!!!

  • Glorious, Enchanting, Sweeping, Haunting, Rendering.

  • Great enchanting song!

And the scene looks like a scene of a fairy tale ( maybe Sleeping Beauty? )

  • where can I get the lyrics for this song!!? can't find them anywhere on the net...:(

  • WHO sings this? What is her name? What other works has she done? Is she a well known opera singer, or perhaps somone less renowned?

...How have I never heard of her before! :/

  • i love Merlin. i remembered this song....So wonderful.

  • very beautiful! and sounds a bit familiar...

in love with this aria since I saw first episode of "Merlin" :)

  • Eve Myles rocks!

  • Hell yea!

  • amazing song

  • This song is so beautiful and powerful. And yey for Merlin, saving the day! :D

  • Very clever of her to disguise her spell by singing. If she had just been saying that normally then she would probably have been arrested and hanged

  • this was the most beautiful attempted murder ever!!!

  • And this is why I watch Merlin ^^ Amazingly beautiful

  • This song is one of my favorite opera songs. I love this series and I hope it can continue for as long as it can. When I saw the first episode, I wanted to buy it. But I can wait.

  • This song is probably what absolutely hooked me into the Merlin series. Sad, huh?

Now that I think about it... It would be a shame to sleep through one's own death, wouldn't it? Or do you think that Arthur would have woken up?

  • Not sad at all---it's the same for me. Honestly, I can't help but want the witch to get her revenge, which would end the series before it began ;) Still, I can't help but think she's justified. What does that say about me? lol

  • What about the people that die in their sleep?

My guess is that Arthur would not have woken up..... Maybe she could have stopped singing and killed him when he woke up. ;^)

  • I have to agree. A little part of me wanted the witch to get her revenge. She was fierce! The aria just had me hooked and Nimueh (sp?) kept me hooked. haha

  • i know the king had her son murdered why shouldn't she get revenge on such a self-centered narcissist

  • An eye for an eye just leaves everyone blind. Lol. I can understand her desire for revenge but she would be more justified in trying to kill Uther, not Arthur who hasn't done anything wrong.

  • well he will still have the one. he'll just be half blind

  • This song is awesome. The series is amazing and definately on of my faves.

  • this show will forever be one of my favorites because of this scene

  • Your mother forever.

  • I love this Song, witches forever!

  • OMG ITS GWEN COOPER!!!!!!!!!!

  • Uwielbiam tą piosenkę ;D Jest świetna ;]

  • The best scene of Merlin :D

  • love this song

  • WAHHHHH....very powerfull her voice

  • @fazrizam i know. i wish i was as powerful as her

  • i love this song i think shes brill i feel really tired when i here this song its class

  • i sing this song i love it

  • Since i saw it on the internet when it first came out, i've bin almost hipnitized by the song. I cant get enough of it. I which i new welsh so i knew what she was singing.

  • Hy Everybody! This Song is Amazing!!

I know who is the singer, but i don't find the lyrics of this song, HELP ME!!

    The singer is Emma Brain-Gabbott!!

  • @fantaJury The lyrics are nonsense : "Blah khien barrah fweelah, blah khien aiza krum, aloe khio bragam harah eefnell, broe floe mesing lah, breeyoolah naaadryu. Sorin sar akhwah, roe hagroe nonestroe, broilin sar akhwah, mortsin danah bradeh, broilin sar akhwah, noe-… Weeben proe, proe sah yakmah, haryay nakhah: Agah Madah Sadah Hagah!" ^^
  • @MissAnneBoleyn1 Hello? Nowadays it is common feature to make up lyrics, anyway, one guy said it was old Welsh or something like that, so you cant say for 100% that the lyrics are made up. And- lyrics never have been the most important in songs anyway.

  • Awesome I Love This Song, Wud Love The Lyrics So I Cud Sing It

  • A somg that makes me have goosebumps is always a good thing.

    Love this music!!!!!! :-)

  • It'd be really great if anyway knew what the theme for merlin was called or where I could get it

  • iTunes merlin soundtrack, if you're talking about the intro song to the series. ¬¬

  • Haunting music :D

  • I love this song, this must be the 5th or 6th time I've listened to it since I began watching it Friday night when I came home from Uni.

It's such an enchanting song, and the amazing effect of not breathing (magic) is breathe taking (if you'll excuse the pun :D)

    Anyone know who's singing this?

It's great to see Eve Myles in this, she's brilliant in Torchwood, and to see her in merlin is wonderful :)

  • I put gwen cooper didnt i lol i ment eve myles

  • hey guys i know this is probubly a daft question but is yhat gwen cooper if not does anyone know who it is-i might look into buying the ablum: brilliant voice thanks for uploading!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would love to have this music, too. It is gorgeous...don't have the tools to do it myself.

  • i have firgure out how to make an mp3 put the video file into movie maker edit it so you only get the singing make sure you move the whole file down into the audio part then save movie file in.... File then do what it says then putinto itunes then your done ...

  • would you be able to send me this clip so i can turn into a mp3 file

  • Look at the descriptiob of the vid, enjoy !

  • If you make an MP3, could you maybe upload it or something? And let me know? I would LOVE this on my iPod. :D

  • amazing

  • amazing!!

  • sounds similar to Lord of the Rings

  • Why are people giving this comment thumbs down? I know the Lord of the Rings music VERY well, and it has similarities. The most prominant is the rise and fall of the strings in the background near the beginning, that gives the impression of waves. The very same effect Howard Shore uses in the Elves' themes in LotR. The are other similar aspects, but I'll stop now. XD

  • I agree, why give it thumbs down just because somebody thinks it similar to LOTR music? a) it's their opinion, b) in my opinion, that's a great complicment- LOTR is phenomenally, popular and has some fantastic music, as enchanting as this.

    Well said LilyKnotwise :)

    I gave you a thumbs up shotgun782 :D
