I actually only just read about this in "heavier than heaven". I'm pretty sure Kurt hit the guard on purpose only he didn't think it would be such a hard hit. Soon after the guard had to go to the hospital quickly and get stitched up. Later the guard actually caught up with nirvana as they were driving away in a car and he ended up smashing up part of the car in anger. Lucky Kurt didn't get beat up haha
