Bridging, I believe, is when phpBB and Joomla share the same users section of the db or they sync them somehow. All I know is that it is useful if you have other sections of your website, not forum related, that you'd like the same registered users to have access to. The idea being that the end user only needs to register one time to access all facets of your site. Thanks for the comment.
Great tutorial - I was initially going to do this all by bridging the Joomla to phpBB board, but for my purposes, I don't need that... So I might do your way - what are the advantages if any, or bridging the Joomla to phpBB as opposed to just sticking the phpBB there?
