if the album is this dry, kinda like like tegan and saras the con, it could be contender for cd of the year for me. i hope you don't ruin it with distortion on her vocals like previous ep's cos this is VERY promising.
Sadly your probably a hipster, but, distortion ruins the mood. hurts the ears. ruins her voice. i'd rather they sounded nothing like those shit bands and sounded good and did well. i'm sure if tegan & sara put distortion on there records they would sell as many records as memory cassette ;) idiot
@Warnerchild Uh, no, I'm exactly the opposite, I think it's stupid to say that all music is the same, I devide music into many many genres and subgenres. Distortion while it is not a genre is an element in making music and in that respect the bands I mentioned have something in common.

We obviously have different tastes, there's nothing wrong with that, we can BOTH be right, for me distortion blends sound and makes for a more ambient atmosphere, that doesn't mean the music isn't good without distortion, it means it improves the mood.

of course your different and your allowed to be. you cant please everyone even if the band themselves read this. there is a 50/50 chance they will agree with one of us, thats just life.
but i work in the music industry and as a fan of the band i was merely giving adivce, rather than having a go at you. as a fan you may be bummed if they dropped the distortion, but luckily for you it's in fashion at the moment and you can move onto another atlas sound band,
what i'm trying to say is this band actually has talent unlike the rest of these bands and shouldn't hide behind distorion. cos they could reach a wider audience and make a few more bucks and be able to keep going in this current economy and shit.
@Warnerchild Yes I know what you mean, along lines of purely making money (and music politics) I can definitely see how getting rid of distortion would make this band more accessable to the average person, but I'm thinking more along lines of artistic integrity and making the art you want to whether it makes you popular or not, doing what you were meant to do, making the music you want to make, and in general making the best piece of art you can, whether it is accessable/marketable or not.

just listened to those bands that wernt in the same genre as best coast
so you must be some gorillavsbear dickhead that thinks all that music is the same genre.
also they were electrical bands with barely any distortion compared to best coast EXCEPT wavves which was just garbage.
