@brobinson75 Hey, Bryan... I have to agree that interiors of color tend to have fading problems...I've experienced that over the years. But black interiors in the 60's kinda got overused, and became monotonous. That's why I like the blue interior of my 72 Mustang. Thanks! :) Jack
1970 was really the last year for a real SS. In 1971 the SS became a trim package due to the flack about insurance. Unfortunately the muscle car era was coming to an end. Now this car not only looks muscular with that 396 (402) I am sure it is (I think 396 sounds nicer than 402). Power for the 396 ranged from 325 to 375 or the SS454 could go up to 450. There were 7 interior colors for 70 and this interior color is perfect for that gorgeous desert sand exterior and beautiful racing stripes.
@cheddyrod Hey, Chester! Thanks for scoop on the SS. Yeah, I'm sure they played the numbers game both for the government and insurance purposes. I'm sure the rules were meant to protect the public from fast cars in young hands, but I don't know that it accomplished that purpose. I think government and insurance action tends to be heavy handed and simplistic...oh well, those cars are just a memory now! Thanks! :) Jack
@dodge09challenger Hey, Brian! Yeah..black interiors although very practical get on my nerves sometimes..glad my 72 Mustang has a blue interior! The red interior of my 64 Dart turned various shades...that's the weak point! Thanks! :) Jack
The best way to tell if a Chevrolet is an SS or not is to check the cowl-tag ( or drivers-side door gap tag ) for the "138" in the code. The SS cars were the ONLY ones with that specific number in the data strip.
@Sarcasticscum Hey Nathan...thanks for the tip on that...I know in the past some have claimed SS but were probably clones..that's why I tend not to want to film them. However, this was in perfect shape and I figured I would take a gamble on it..I figured it was the real McCoy! Thanks! :) Jack
look different.. but in a good way!

Not very often I see a Chevelle SS in this color. I like that interior too, 95% of the ones I see at car shows have a black interior.
