ShayeSaintJohn's characher is this defigured woman of whom has been struck by a car scrambling her body and her brains. She lives thanks to prosthetic limbs and reconstructive surgery however her sanity could not be salvaged. Tape is what one uses to fix things that have broken or torn. Her body was broken and torn so this "skin tape" was used during the surgery to put her back together.

Skin tape is a metaphor for her once broken skin coming back together through plastic surgery.
