i am from owasso, oklahoma... my husbands family lives there, just now i am doing everything i can to get donations for Higdon and surrounding areas!... my prayers are with you!
This is my home town. Amazing how fast things can change in just a min. There's alot of great people on Sand Mt. who will do anything to give a helping hand. But sad to say I seen some people arrested for looting, even happier to see them in cuffs!!! Times Journal should have their pics on the cover to reward all the scum of their foul deeds!!!
Sand Mountain is the most most beautiful place with the most beautiful people, homes will be rebuilt trees will grow back, but the ones we lost will be missed and remembered forever.
I was born and raised in Rainsville. The streets in this video, I've been down a million times and yet, I can hardly recognize them. Thank God my family is ok, but many of our neighbors homes were destroyed. I'll be back in Rainsville in a 2 weeks to help any way I can. Thank you so much for the volunteers who are taking care of our community! Sending my prayers from NYC.
this storm has ruined lives.....my school is destroyed and we have to go to a different school :( I grew up in rainsville and sylvania and now they are messed up horribly
I would like to make cards and send words of hope and encouragement to those affected by the recent tornadoes. I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but you would be surprised how a simple kind word can go a long way. People need to know they are not alone in the world...especialy after they lost everything that was dear to them. Human connection is powerful, especialy in times of tragedy. Please join us.
I want to thank all of the volunteers and fire departments, ems workers, police officers, national gaurd and anyone I may have missed that has came together to help our towns....it makes me feel like I live in the best place of the world...may god bless each and everyon of you
It's hard to believe this actually happened to us, it seems like a dream. I can't quite wrap my head around it. I just wanna say thank you, all of you, for sticking together as a community and making our job just a little easier.
I had about 30 friends that were less than 1/2 a mile from the Rainsville tornado in each of these 3 towns. They all made it out ok. Some of them lost their homes. Cant believe so many of my friends were almost lost.

@MrsJenniferLuttman You don't have to thank us. We are here to help our communities and we love doing it. I'm just sorry we couldn't do more.

I have family in Scottsboro. I'm keeping that whole area in my thoughts. It's always been like a second home to me. :(
